2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a clear amber/ruby color with a medium lt tan head. Aroma is malty...lightly fruity with a very faint metallic note. Flavor is malty and earthy...almost like rye...with a faint spicy hop note that builds in the finish. Mouthfeel is light and decently lively and the finish dries out with some spicy/earthy hoppiness.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottles, Drafts, etc. Pours out a dark red color with a tan head. Smell is malty and has a bit of sweet fruit in the nose. Taste is smooth and easy to drink, not alot of hops present - no alcohol burn. Easy to drink, but not the best beer I have had in my life.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle: Pours a clear deep amber bronze with a stringy-lacing off-white head. Has a sweet toasty light caramel nose with a touch of piny, grassy hops. Starts with decent fullness and carbonation with some lightly sweet caramel and nutty flavors along with slight graininess before a drier bittersweet finish. Pretty true to style and drinkable, but could be a little cleaner and crisper.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask in American Oak: A reddish amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, woody oak with faint caramel. In mouth, an astringent bad idea, wood chip, like licking paper, not good. 5-3-3-2-4
Cask conditioned in Applewood: Same colour. Aroma, light caramel malt with faint oaken notes. In mouth, a caramel malt with light wooden notes, lactic points, so-so 6-3-6-3-12

poured into glass from 12 oz bottle, amber color, thin head, nothing too special about the aroma or flavor, what little flavor it had reminded me of the sour bitterness of a heineken. not very pleasant.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a deep amber color with a big, creamy beige head. The aroma is largely like a sweet wheat bread, with a little grassy bitterness to balance. The flavor is likewise very sweetly bready, with some light caramel and herbal hops adding some depth. The medium-light body feels resinous and somewhat astringent, adding some presence to hold up the reasonably balanced flavor profile. Overall, this beer is a nice amber, but being a nice amber will only go so far.
