Bottle. The pour was a medium brown with a yellow hue and an average sized (1-2 finger) frothy off white head that diminished to a thin layer of residue and lasted throughout creating some really good spotty sticky lacing. The aroma was of mild bread and grain malts, an herbal hop and a sweet earthy yeast with notes of toffee and caramel. The taste was lightly sweet and malty with just a mild hint of toffee at first and then got a little hop bite with a nice caramel note at the end. The flavor lasted a decent amount of time with a slight hoppiness left at the finish. Mouthfeel was just a bit above light in body with the texture being a bit watery and a tad dry with a lively carbonation. Overall a nice tasty Amber ale with a nice mild hoppiness to it. But it seems that everything I try from this brewer is quite tasty.

Bottle. Copper with big foamy tan head and decent lacing. Smells like cotton candy, apricot, and rye. Tastes sweet and cereally. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, sweet finish.

This brew pours a clear dark amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel and mild hops. Light body with a caramel malt character and notes of grain and hops. The finish is sweet with a short malty aftertaste. Fairly average overall.

On tap at Natty Greenes, Greensboro NC on 13 July 2006 (noted at 4.8%). More copper than amber in colour. There’s a restrained flowery hop character and a touch of caramel malt. Clean and easy drinking. Less happening here than the APA. Respectable enough but not very inspiring.
