COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Strong-style India Pale Ale, deep copper in color witha a big, malty, hoppy palate and dry hopped with Centennial & Antanum for a spicy, citrus aroma. What better name for a big, strong beer than one of the biggest, strongest weapons of the Revolutionary War - the cannonball.

Enjoyed with some afternoon football this past weekend thanks to Beerbill. Nice copper colored brew with a head so big I thought it was infected. Not so thankfully. Citrus hop aroma with a smidge of resinous presence and a lightly orange like sweet malt. Resinous hops are dominant in the flavor thought some lemon like presence sneaks up in the end. Touches of grain. A nicely bitter brew with enough body that it becomes quite drinkable. Medium body with a dry mouth feel. Enjoyed it.

On draft at the brewpub . Nice looking light gold with a moderate white head. Hoppy pine and citrus aroma over a light brown sugar background. Medium body and carbonation, pretty clean on the palate. Bitterness takes center stage, although there is a pretty substantial caramel malty background that prevents thing from getting out of hand. A very nice double IPA.

This is a nice brew. Pours out a deep orange color with a nice white head. Aroma is very hoppy and citrusy. Flavor was nice, but not nearly as bitter as i had hoped for. Over all not a bad brew at all. Something I will have again. Also after 6 pints of this stuff, youll be drunk. I certainly was.

12oz bottle via Secret Santa Summer 2009-Pours a hazy orange with a huge dense beige head. Nose is subdued but orange and sweet resiny hops. Starts sweet and ends bittersweet. In the middle are some fruity juicy hops..tangarine, pineapple, orange, a liitle grapefruit and a bit of pine. Also some crystal malts are evident. Anti dry finish....but not overly sweet... Body is full and she is full of sticky resin. Carbonation is medium. A pretty tasty above average IIPA. Oh, and this reminds me a little of Pizza Port Wipeout...which is a good thing to be reminded of!

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2009 12oz bottle thanks to jrob21. Pours a cloudy amber with a thin, off-white head. Nose is very powerful citrus. Taste was same as smell. Mouthfeel was medium-thin with a strong, mouth tingle from the hops and a very bitter finish. Out of balance in a hop-forward way, but that’s ok for this hop-head. Loved it.

Uh oh, a lost rating. Had this one a while back, forgot to rate it, although I swear I remember writing it. Must not have hit submit. Not a particularly great DIPA. Ah well.

Originally reviewed: 4/25/09. Pours a cloudy deep gold with a nice frothy white head on top. Great retention and nice sticky lacing rings. Smells of deep pine scents and flowers. Very nice. Mouthfeel is alot thinner than I would like. Pretty watery. Flavor is very muted hop bitterness. Some citrus in there. This is more like an APA in my mind. The only thing that makes this a double is ABV, and even that is fairly absent. Not bad, but have had better

bottle courtesy of emacgee, thank you. pours a deep but crisp amber with a dense and creamy off white head that leaves some lacing and spotting. the aroma and taste have a ton of sweet biscuity crystaly malts, very malty iipa, but i really like it since its a great malt profile. its still highly hopped, and the hop profile is equally as balanced. overall a nice brew, very drinkable, though more like an asa to me.

12oz. bottle, with thanks to brentk56 for the great bonus. Pours a clear golden orange with a huge and lasting off-white head that leaves big chunks of lace. Aroma is floral, citrus and peel, a little pine and light caramel. Flavor is juicy, with a nice blend of floral, crisp fresh citrus and caramel. Drinks more like an IPA than a Double; good stuff either way. Thanks again Brent!

Bottle at Tampa tasting, thanks jdubFL I think. Poured a slightly hazy copper color with a thin off-white head. Nose is full of pine, grass, citrus. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. This one has a solid caramel foundation with a good amount of unbalanced hops bitterness, yum. Finishes bitter with a lingering citrus note. Very nice.
