Strong-style India Pale Ale, deep copper in color witha a big, malty, hoppy palate and dry hopped with Centennial & Antanum for a spicy, citrus aroma. What better name for a big, strong beer than one of the biggest, strongest weapons of the Revolutionary War - the cannonball.

12oz. bottle, with thanks to brentk56 for the great bonus. Pours a clear golden orange with a huge and lasting off-white head that leaves big chunks of lace. Aroma is floral, citrus and peel, a little pine and light caramel. Flavor is juicy, with a nice blend of floral, crisp fresh citrus and caramel. Drinks more like an IPA than a Double; good stuff either way. Thanks again Brent!

12 oz bottle. Big, sweet tangerine hop flavor comes as a surprise as there is little aroma. Slightly, pleasantly oily. Somewhere between an IPA and a DIPA.

Bottle at Tampa tasting, thanks jdubFL I think. Poured a slightly hazy copper color with a thin off-white head. Nose is full of pine, grass, citrus. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. This one has a solid caramel foundation with a good amount of unbalanced hops bitterness, yum. Finishes bitter with a lingering citrus note. Very nice.

Draft at the brewpub. Nice hoppy, fruit forward nose, though quite muted. I really wasn’t a big fan of this guy. It was plenty smooth, but the flavors weren’t all that well balanced. Not my favorite IIPA.

12 oz bottle purchased at City Beverage in Winston-Salem. Pours a dark golden color with some reddish tinge and an off white head on it. Aroma on this one is full of hops, grass, and pine. Taste is piney, citrusy and quite hoppy but pretty smooth - easy drinking.

On tap at the brewpub, pours a hazy amber with a thin head and nice lacing. Smells of cherries and malts, and tastes the same. Thick on the palate, I like this one.

Brewer gave small sample, not on tap yet. Poured a neon reddish orange. Simcoe hops were defientley present. Smooth throughout, no overwhelming hop usage. Hints of sweet orange and lemon. Malt and Hop were balanced well. Finished light and a little bitter.

From tap at Brewery. Wow! The last beer I had at the brewery and the best. Amber with a haze and sticky head. Aroma was malt and fruity hops. Taste was caramel, bread, fruity hops and bitter finish. The ABV was hidden well.

Left over from a Christmas trip down to North Carolina. Aroma is very light, neither hops nor malts terrible strong, some floral and citrus notes. Pours a deep orange hued brown, with a good tan frothy head. The flavor is mild pine, and citrus, the hops and malts are very well balanced. Not to carbonated... A very good beer.
