2014 version, so, aged 1.5-2 years. Clear deep Amber with a very thin off white cap. Big red sour aroma with some red wine and red fruits, with a stern earthy sour funk, and some sort of chestnut-barrel tone. Big bold flavor that’s just slightly tart on the finish, then there’s this wild red fruit and Amber malts, some Belgian Amber nuances, and gently dusty and tart. Very complex and layered, smooth, gently acidic, fruity, and delightful.

2015. Pretty solid. Complex and tart. Cherry oak and good sourness. Medium on the sour. Almost like a Flemish red. Pleasantly surprised.

Clear mahogany body with a soapy beige cap. Aromas of oak, cherry, vanilla, funk. The flavor is a notch below the aroma. Light body. Mild sweetness. Brown bread and cherry character. Mild tartness with moderate funk character.

Draft? at Snallygaster 2015. Poured a dark brown color with a small white head. Aroma was lots of sweet notes, cherries, some light woody notes. Flavor was cherry, vanilla.

Bottle. Poured a mahogany color with an off white head. Earthy, funky, wood, caramel, and a bit acetic.

MartinT (8987) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 10, 2014
My Bottom Line:
Sour cherries, barnyard and red vinegar coincide in this dry and tart creation.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the cloudy red.
-Carbonation feels natural, which helps the flavor profile greatly.
-The acetic finish may be a tad too much for some, but I like it.
-The mouthfeel is soft, which helps drinkability greatly.

Bottle.

Draft at Release the Funk, 2014 version. Deep reddish maroon color, beige head. Aroma of overripe cherries, vanilla, light tannin. Taste is sweet and sour brandied cherries and vanilla. Very tasty.

Damico (3119) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 26, 2014
Pours amber mostly unclear with a beige head head. Aroma brings a sweet tart characteristic of American sours with a bit of wheat as well. Flavors bring sweeter tart than usual, maybe it has died a bit after a few years in the cellar.

DuffMan (8943) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 22, 2014
Bottle, from b3shine (thanks Beau!), shared at RBAG 2014. Medium amber brown, spare off white head. Kriekish, unripened cherries, strong lactic sourness (very "American" in this respect). Very tasty.

Ferris (10795) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 12, 2014
Bottle - Umame, sour funky cherry and light herbs. Clear copper with light head. Sour cherry, umame and a long cloying finish. Not great.
