19641948 (492), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA Jun 12, 2008 2004’s concoction was more of a bitter/English Pale version. But this new one is billed as a mild. A 6.4% mild. Pours a hazy, unfiltered golden brown with a fluffy and spacious head of almond. The airy head plopped away hastily and left a thin skim of milkiness. Aromas were clean with a fair balance of subtly sweet caramel maltiness and dry earthy hops. The flavor follows suit with more balance. Quite the session brew, but a mild? I guess I can see it, apart from the ABV that would limit drinking 6 pints in one sitting. Clean finish, quiet body. Will not brand its memory onto your brain, but a tasty beer nonetheless.
