From tap: Pours orange/copper with a small head that lingered. Aroma is straight grapefruit. Taste follows with a malt backbone. Balanced.

Originally reviewed: 12/20/10. Had this one on tap today at the brewpub. Labelled an American Strong Pale Ale on the flier. I guess and American IPA is close enough. Came out a slightly hazy dark gold with a creamy white head on top. Excellent lace rings all over the glass with each sip. The nose is very citrusy and full of resiny hops. Pretty one dimensional though.
Good crisp body, mellow finish. Hops come out in full force on the tongue. Pretty crisp, but not palate-scorching. Mild citrus noted. Faint breadiness. Could use some sweet balance, but all in all, a pretty good beer. I’d gladly have it again.

a big malty american pale ale, heavy maltiness balanced with some crispy hops. Good, but nothing over the hop

Reviewed from notes. On tap at the brewpub.
Pours an orange color with a bit of an off white head and a fairly decent amount of lacing. The nose brings some herbal and pine hops along with a bit of caramel malt. The taste isn’t too hoppy and the malt takes over a bit. Body is light to medium with pretty good carbonation levels. Goes down smoothly.

On tap at the brewpub. Excellent hop profile here with some grapefruit and bubblegum. Amarillo hops in effect here. The malt body could be a little more prevalent but the hops keep me very entertained and allow me to overlook this.

Tap at the brewpub on 2/2/08: Pours a transparent deep golden bronze with a spotty-lacing wispy white head. Aroma of big fresh piny grapefruity hops and a touch of sweet pale malt. Body starts fairly full and sweet with a nice fresh grapefruity hoppy presence before a crisp bittersweet finish. A nice IPA.

Slightly hazed orange pour with a creamy white head and lace. Light sweet with a very nice hint of evergreen bitter. Nice balance of malt and hops a very nice sweet maltiness. A medium bodied beer with very good carbonation. Another damn solid beer from these guys.

On tap at the brewpub. The aroma belies a moderate amount of freah floral hop aroma. My guess is that old classic Cascade. This is unfiltered, has chill haze and is a deep amber color.

Cloudy brown with little head to speak of. Nose is resiny with citric notes. Body is softly carbonated with a a solid malt backing. Hop character is earthy with fruity characters subdued. Pretty even throughout the entire swallow; no flavor takes control. I would have liked a more hop forward aroma and perhaps something more memorable in the finish. Just fades away. Ok IPA.
