On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Soft grain on the nose, crisp and crackery. Medium bodied, grainy and crisp. Grain into the finish, crisp with a soft bitterness.

Drank this at Natty Greene’s on tap poured into a pint glass. Pours a clear golden, with decent carbonation, and white head that disappears quickly. Tastes light, how a golden ale should...

[From notes]. Poured from an undated 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Had to back off and pour carefully as the head from this beer threatened to burst over the top of the over-sized glass. Appearance: a clear pale gold with a large white head that settled fairly quickly. Barely visible, very fine-grained carbonation. Smell is light but not faint, with light malt and just hints of hops. Nothing particularly good or bad here. Taste is of malt with an appropriate (i.e., in good balance) amount of hop bitterness. Better than the aroma, but lacks, richness, interest and complexity -- none of which are common in this style. Improves with some warming. Mouthfeel is light-bodied, crisp and well carbonated. It has a rather dry finish. O - This goes down easy, has no brewing flaws and is refreshing, but it also has limited flavor and aroma. Could make a good pairing with a delicately flavored meal. Certainly way better and more flavorful than a typical American light beer.

Bottle. Vegetal/canned corn and straw aroma. Medium yellow with minimal head. Canned corned flavor - not much else. A DMS bomb.

Bottle: Clear, bubbly gold with a small white head. Grain, honey, corn scent. Taste is somewhere between a really cheap lager and an NA... Corn, grain, soap...dull grain malt, water... Surprisingly bad offering from a pretty decent brewer....I can’t believe they bothered to bottle this.

Sampled on tap at Natty Greene’s in Raleigh. Pours a yellow color with white head. Light, straw, hay aromas. Grainy, malty, slight chlorinated (?) flavors. Not great.

Bottle courtesy of Butters on 02/28/2011. Clear golden body with a medium frothy white head. Sweet malt and honey aroma. Sweet honey nut cherrios flavor with some light floral hops and some faint fruit. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Poured as a 4 oz taster in Greensboro. Unlike some of the other tasting notes, this had a nice aroma and some real taste. Maybe they’ve changed the recipe starting this year? Found malty, caramel notes on the nose; some hop bitterness but definitely balanced toward the malty end of spectrum.
