2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
12oz bottle, thanks to Jay. My bottle is labeled 3.8% ABV. Clear yellow color, minimal ring of white head around the edge, 2 or 3 small loose dots of lace. Some funky skunk; mustiness. Some lemon. Bread. Light herbal, citrus hops. Sweet corn. Some tart sour, and bitter. Thicker carbonation, sort of pronounced - gives the texture a bit; not what I’d call smooth. I think good golden ales are tasty and supremely easy to drink - this is neither

2.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a hazy golden yellow with a thin off-white head. Aroma is buttered biscuit but then fades to some strange dank smell, almost like compost. Not too great. Flavor is again very buttery, grainy, some hay. Finishes somewhat cleanly which makes the beer more respectable. Not Natty Greenes best offering.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
This tastes like nothing. Like, just barely more flavorful than water. I get no smell, nor do I get any taste. I may as well not be drinking anything.

Pours gold with a medium white head. Aroma is grass, grain and floral. Taste its sweet with a little tartness. Light mouth feel and refreshing to drink. Nothing to complex but it is try to style

Bottle. Light, but with flavor. A little musty aroma, does have a crisp finish. Not bad for style.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz. Bottle. Impressive scent with a pretty weak taste. Tart fruit fronted scent, sweet sugar, a cinnamon toast type of quality to it. Great start! Clear gold/copper pour with a small head dissolving quickly to a white ring. Light bodied, crisp texture. Weak powered taste mostly of saltine crackers. I wish the scent translated to the taste.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
On tap at West 94th Street Pub, Durham. I was told this was a fresh keg. In that case, it’s fresh diacetyl. Decent enough look and mouthfeel, but straight up corn and BMC blandness. Ugh.

Tap at Natty Greene’s. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is grainy, sweet, honey, floral. Flavor is thin watery, a bit malty, fruity and lightly bitter. Finishes shortlived bitter.

Barely there aroma and basic appearance with a mild taste and lingering mouthfeel.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Originally reviewed: 6/28/08. Poured this into a conical pint. Poured a clear golden color with a huge foamy white head, most of which disappeared throughout the first few minutes. Noticed little carbonation.
Smelled not that impressive. Some malt and hops, cereal and touch of butterscotch.
Tasted very smooth and creamy. Not a ton of flavor. Some malt, corn, butter. A little sour. No bite to this beer. Very easy to consume. Good session beer.
All in all, not the best beer in the world, but not that bad either.
