Pour is a dark brown. Smell is very sweet and malt forward, reminiscent of some Oktoberfest brews. Taste is nutty and bready (caramel malts in here, among other malts, I’d guess) with a hint of dark malt and chocolate.

Bottle at home thanks to Brad. Pours medium dark brown, fast dissipating head. Aroma is toast, burnt caramel, faint cocoa. Taste is toasted caramel, slight roast, faint bitter cocoa. Thin mouthfeel, highly carbonated. Not bad, average overall.

poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- Has a faint aroma of malt and coffee Appearance- This is a very dark brown (near black) brown ale. Taste- Has a mild roasted malt flavor that is not overpowering. Palate- This is a medium bodied brew with mild carbonation and a thin texture Overall- Not a bad brown ale, I would drink this again if I was out and wanted a brown ale.

A: Very dark garnet brown. Very little beige head. Fair retention though and a bit of lace. S: Sweet chocolate and raisins mainly. A little roast T: Bitter chocolate with just a faint sweetness. Also a very faint fruit note on the finish. Pretty good if not exceptional flavor. M: Light body. Low carbonation. Easy drinking to be so dark. O: Not a bad brown ale. Thin bodied but I like the low ABV. Worth buying at least when on sale for $7/6.

Pecan nose. Brown, thin tan head. Sweet nutty, grainy flavor, a little cardboard. Medium body. Has issues, but it was quite enjoyable.

12oz bottle. Dark brown color with very little head. Smells like cocoa, a terrific aroma. The taste doesn’t live up to the aroma. A little too watery for me and a taste of roasted malt and nutty. Ends bitter. I was expecting much better after the great first impression.

12oz Bottle. The pour was a murky dark mahogany brown with an average (1-2 finger) light brown creamy head that was mostly diminishing, leaving behind a medium collar and fair runny lacing.

The aroma was rather mild of toasted dark malts and a light doughy yeast with hints of coffee and a bit of chocolate.

The taste was mildly malty sweet with just a touch of milk chocolate in the beginning, changing slightly to a mildly bitter roasty coffee presence at the end. The flavor lasted only a short time after the swallow, with the light roastiness fading quickly off the taste buds.

Mouthfeel was a few steps light of medium in body with a somewhat watery texture and a mild carbonation.

Overall as Brown Ale’s go, I found this one to be a rather average representation of the style... www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews
