Had this quickly after the straight Pale Ale and enjoyed this one a bit more. On draft at the brewpub. Nice hop aroma with some pine and pronounced citrus smells. A sort of faint amber color with a short offwhite head. Caramel malt flavors add to the body. Good bubblegum hop flavors as well.

Random bottle I had while visiting North Caroline. This stuff was very simple but very to style and refreshing. Highly sessionable with a great malt body and a much more prevalent hop presence than I was expecting.

On tap at the brewpub. Amber in color. This is more like a lager than an ale. The hop flavoring is very harsh and not a smoothly mellow as the Southern Pale Ale.

Draft at the brewpub. Small white head on top of a straw colored brew. A touch of hops and straw in the nose. The flavor is a very thin, a bit of hops, but it’s just so perfectly clean tasting and finishes completely balanced. I could have a good time chugging this stuff all night long.

on tap-pours a dissipating off white head and gold/amber color. Aroma is mild citrus hops, faint medium malt. Taste is citrus hops-some bitterness, very dry, some medium malt, roasty. Good carbonation.

Nice amber pour with a huge eggshell head that coated the glass all the way. There is a lot of sweetbread in the bouquet... almost like toffee meets dough.... interesting. This starts off with quite a bit of caramel malt, and is immediately contrasted by a pale, biscuit note. Just like their APA, this has a nicely bitter finish, only with bit more residual sugar, accompanied by a tinge of copper. At first, to be honest, I actually thought this was a combo of their APA and amber ales. However, upon further scrutiny, it’s a brew of its own, introducing special biscuit bitters and copper into this recipe. Not bad... the sweetness tends to stay "just" this side of cloying, but it was a nice way to round out the 4th of July.

Pours a sunshiney golden amber with a fluffy head of off-white. Aromas give a crisp hop air with the added feel of baked bread. Snappy hop flavors whack the tongue. Bready malt base; crackers and biscuits. This beer nearly dessicates my palate and leaves me with a shriiveled tongue. Dry, dry, dry, with a whipcrack of hop bite in every sip. Seems to me to be a meld of their Guilford Golden Ale and their Natty’s Pale Ale with a sprinkle of Bayonet ESB thrown in for good measure.
