Our winter warmer ale is "gingerbread in a glass". Full-bodied, spiced with cinnamon, star anise, corinader, and orange peel. Citrus, tart finish.

12 oz bottle. Aroma was touch of nuttiness, sweet, light spices. Molasses, light spices. Gingerbread notes, with some sweet light brown sugar notes. Interesting holiday beer.

Not sure what this is. Some spice caramel aroma. Pours brown with good head and lacing. Some nutmeg. Ok but not my thing. Tap at DC Beer festival.

There’s lots of great spice in this beer and it manages its sweet, cookie-like flavor. Tried at the Drink the District President’s Day event in DC in 2014.

Bottle, Wine Warehouse, CHO. Pours reddish brown with half-inch of reddish-beige head. Smells of copper, leaves, molasses. Bittersweet dark fruit flavor with molasses and light spice. Kinda tasty.

12oz bottle from The Beer Store Wilson. Reddish-brown hue, murky clarity with mostly diminishing white fizzy head, no lacing. Couldn’t get much if any aroma off of this beer. Medium bitter malt up front with a light short hop finish. Wasn’t really impressed.

Dark amber, almost brown, pour with little head and no lacing. Nose is quite faint but of dark malt and alcohol. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Somewhat smooth mouthfeel. The taste is pleasant and so well balanced that it is hard to identify the individual components. It consists of a light spiciness over an equally light dark malt sweetness. The finish is smooth. A good choice to introduce someone to craft brewing - a very good beer that doesn’t over accentuate any aspect of craft beer.

This years batch of Red Nose is much improved over past years. Fully body. More deep malts and less of anisette notes. The spices are there, in the forefront, but no longer beating you over the head. The result is a far more drinkable Red Nose. Nose is also improved. Less acrid. More mellow.

Walnut, coffee, and roasted barley nose, robust. Murky rust brown, medium yellow head. Almond and chestnut flavor. Sessionable with no alcohol noticeable. Absolutely no spice. Gingerbread? No, it drinks more like a nut brown than a spiced ale. Mislabeled? Maybe.

A nice red. Pours a pretty amber with a light grey head. Smells a bit fruity, win some cinnamon and cloves. Taste is sweet and creamy, with a very malty aftertaste. Had on tap at the brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
