12 ounce bottle from Lowes Foods in Hickory, NC, opened 4/7/11. Pours a clear copper color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. The aroma is bready and toffeeish with bitter hops and a nutty finish. The taste is toffee and big spicy notes. Faint hops in the finish. Medium bodied.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle from City Beverage in Winston-Salem. Pours reddish gold with an offi white head on it. Aroma is spicy and fruity with some cinnamon and nutmeg dominating. Taste is full of spice as I would expect from a holiday all with some fruitiness to it. Pretty easy drinking holiday ale - not overly heavy - I was able to drink several which I can’t say for many of the holiday ales I have tried. Pretty solid.

3.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Perfect color for the season. Very lackluster aroma, in fact very little at all which I think is the primary reason the score is lower. Nice carmel malt notes. Medium hop characteristics, not overwhelming, but you can certainly tastes some hops. Finishes very smooth, and doesn’t have an over powering after taste. This is a well balanced, very nice Winter Ale that I would certainly recommend to all.

Light brown pour with white head which stayed for awhile. Aroma of caramel and some Christmas spices. Flavor was strong gingerbread spice and cinnamon with slight bitterness. Very drinkable.

Sampled on draft at the mellow mushroom at burlington. Nice clear mahogany pour with some traces of offwhite head. The aroma, while a bit underwhelming, does have hints of caramel and biscuit. Flavor adds the gingerbread spices, but not overpowering. Pretty decent for a spiced brew.

Bottle that Daniel brought down. Thanks. Wanted to try some more of these beers. Pours out brown and kind of reddish with a tan head on it. Smell is spicy, with some fruits and cinnamon. Kind of reminds me of Anchor Christmas Ale. Taste is sweet and spicy, kind of fruity. Pretty smooth too. Interesting beer, probably not one I could drink multiple bottles of. Not bad from this place though, they actually have some good stuff. Glad to see it in bottles.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice little winter beer my mother in law had waiting for me over christmas. Thanks madre. Pretty deep muddy brown color. Aroma of spice and plums and a little bit of ginger. Flavor was red fruit again, spice and a bit of a chalky texture. At first I got some cocoa but that faded into the spice and malt drink that is perfect for this time of year.
