COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our winter warmer ale is "gingerbread in a glass". Full-bodied, spiced with cinnamon, star anise, corinader, and orange peel. Citrus, tart finish.

Draft at Brixx Greensboro. Pours brown with a thin khaki head that doesn’t leave any lacing. A bit of gingerbread on the tongue. The ginger lingers a bit in the finish. Solid but not spectacular.

Tap at brixx Greensburo - pours cloudy amber with a tan head. Aroma is cinnamon, licorice, ginger, and malt. Taste is a tad sweet, astringent citrus finish. Overall, one of the better gingerbread themed holiday beers I’ve had recently.

Bottle--Dark red color with a small that leaves fairly quickly. Not much of an aroma at all maybe some nut and caramel. Taste is some caramel with a bit of corindar. Large amount of carbonation. Middle of the road, hoped for better. Brusin Ales.

Head disappears instantly, pours dark amber reddish color, aroma of some caramel, chestnut also very light notes of cinnamon and cardamom. Taste is quite sweet, slightly bitter.

Pours amber darker ginger root in color like the gingerbread intentions for the beer with a creamy white head. There is more carbonation than desired in this beer, which you can remedy with a few swirls. The aroma brings sweet tea and sour mix notes, from the spices and orange peel. The flavor brings spices, sweetness, and citrus notes on a smooth cleaner body. The carbonation settles well after all the swirling.

Barely there aroma and dark brown pour with a simple taste and minimal mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught. Pours a very dark amber color with a pretty small head. Nose is subtle on this, but you can get some of the Christmas spices on it. Taste is too spicy for me, actually, but not by too much. Decent for the style.

Originally reviewed: 12/31/08. Pours a deep cola-like color with very little head that disappears very quickly. No retention or lacing. Seriously, is this a Pepsi?! I’m smelling a slight smoky characteristic and some chocolate, but that’s about it. This has pretty good flavor. Chocolate, licorice, some toffee. This is like a watered-down porter...or bock. What is this? Crisp mouthfeel, good carbonation. Fair drinkability for what it is...if only I can figure that out.

On tap at Tyler’s, Raleigh, just before Yule. Reddish brown pour of an indistinct quality, with a medium carbonation and head, very little retention. Nose is heavy Christmas cookie and malts. Reckon that’s what they were going for, though I continue to be suspicious of these kinds of beers unless it’s cold out and the beer is called Anchor. Okay, that’s unfair but there was something so depressingly anonymous and confectionary about this beer that it didn’t really seem like beer to me. And the little wit notes in the finish? Not for me.

Draft. Pours deep amber with an off white head. Light spicy aroma with coriander and sweet malts. The flavor has sweet and toasty malts, cinnamon-like spices, and some light citric notes. Pretty good.
