Medium bodied deep golden ale with distinctive bitter character and hoppy, piney-citrus finish...a true American style.

This is a well balanced, quaffable American pale ale. Golden bodied with a creamy, good lacing head, the aroma of this ale is sweet malt with sturdy grapefruit and pine hop scents. The malts are somewhat toasty in the flavor, still quite sweet, with the hop bitterness remaining strong and lasting long into the finish. Good stuff.

BuckNaked (1230) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAR 26, 2006
Draught at the Brewpub in Greensboro 3/25/06: Clear golden yellow-amber body with a small white head. The aroma has some light citrus and fresh bitter hops with hints of light malt. The taste has dry bitter hops, pale malts, and a bit of grassy bitterness. Light-medium bodied, medium carbonated, feels very crisp on the palate. Finishes with some lightly bitter dried citrus hops.

From the tap, pours a clear orange-ish color with a small white head. Nothing in the nose, bland. Just a bitter grassy hops taste. Meh. Tastes like a homebrew kit pale ale.

Had a small taste of this when I was deciding what to fill my growler jug with in G-boro yesterday afternoon. The porter won, but just barely. This was a very pale, very fruity sweet pale. The palate was medium carbonated, medium bodied. The hops definitely left a little something to be desired. This is definitely a beer, I’d try again, but certainly not my favorite local pale ale.

UPDATED: MAR 7, 2007 Draught at airport. Slightly resinous hoppiness in nose leads to a slightly thin-bodied, pretty average pale ale. Earthy and medium bitterness, this brew could have used slightly more girth. Still, a nice BBQ beer.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear golden color with an orange hue and no head. Citrusy hop nose and flavor with crisp grainy undertones. Moderate carbonation. Not bad.

Light golden body with then white head. A very hoppy and grassy aroma. Flavors of spicey hops and citrus with a grassy bitter after taste. An overall ok pale ale.

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2005 ReRate: Nov. 20, 2005 On further tasting this beast has taken on a much less abrasive bitterness. Amarillos are much more pronounced then they ever were before. Still bitter...still attractive, just more so.

Nothing too impressive. Not subtle either. (hoppy) More malt balance please. Only slightly sweet. Cascades for aroma, fuggles for bittering methinks. Earthy and slightly spicy. Niceley and subtely carbonated. G-rat
