2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
MALT LIKKA MAYHEM!!! Consumed at home while a hungry cat stared at my plate of Swedish gravlax. Fuck off, you’ll just have to starve! Pours apple juicy yellow with a quickly-diminishing snowy white bubbly ring. Aromas of pistachios, vitamins, tin, and and malt extract. Tastes exactly the same. Ends, however, with limes, yeast and a bit of heat.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Transfer from BA review on 5-26-13-
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance- The beer pours a straw color with a big billowy white head that fades very rapidly. After the head fades the brew leaves almost no lace on the side of the glass.
Smell- The aroma is heaviest of corn and a little bit of a caramel malt. Mixed with these is a light alcohol aroma as well.
Taste – The taste starts out rather sweet of corn and caramel with a little bit of a bready backbone. As the taste advances it brings a mild flavor of cardboard to the tongue which grows even stronger as the brew warms over time. With the cardboard taste, so too comes some notes of caramel, which help balance them out slightly. In the end an overall sweet corn slightly off, yet still crisp flavor is left to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The mouthfeel is on the medium side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average to slightly above average side. Not bad for the style as it still maintains good drinkability, but a slightly thinner body and higher carbonation may have matched the flavor profile a bit better.
Overall – Rather average adjunct lager. Nothing to offensive but nothing too great- it gets the job done.

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
A - Pours pale yellow with a small one finger tall white head leaving light lacing down the glass.
S - Corn, faint alcohol, and a touch of hops and malt.
T - Very similar to the nose with plenty of adjuncts mixed in. Little to no hops, malt, barley, whatever, in this one.
M - Light body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Light, thin, watery, and fizzy about sums it up.
D - The go to party beer in college. Dirt cheap with a pretty terrible taste. Glad I don’t drink this too often anymore.

0.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
(Revised from 2007 rating.) This one is pretty rough. Pours a pale piss gold with a lot of carbonation and a white head. Plenty of corn, sweet malts, metal, straw, wet grass - one that you kind of have to choke down. But it got the job done in college, offering a 5.9% boost for the lowest price per ounce. So I guess it has some value.

College flashback. Stale beer smell, corn, pennies. Taste is sweet and disgusting. Stay away. This is worse than the light version.

Poured from can into pint glass: Pours clear yellow with a thin white head that disappears instantly. Aroma of booze, sugar, corn, and grain. Taste is really sweet, booze, corn, and nastyness. Light body, cloyingly sweet, not good.

1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20
24 oz. can that I only had a little bit of from backlog notes 07/08. Pours a pale straw yellow color with a thin white head. The aroma and flavor is surprisingly boozy with the typical corn notes, sawdust, nasty graininess. Just no reason for this unless a macro drinker is trying to get there faster.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Wait a minute, I’ve had this more than enough times in my life and I just found my notes on this. Though mostly an after hockey game beer, I grabbed a couple to take home to investigate its characteristics. Here are my findings (yes, this is from several years ago, but honestly, I don’t think that matters).
I have always poured this into a pint glass.
The appearance was a decent looking clear yellow color with a fair amount of carbonation rising at a rapid pace. The white less than one fingered white foamy head dissipated within less than twenty seconds. There wasn’t any lacing.
The smell was cooked corn. I couldn’t get anything else.
The taste was sweet and had the corn invade that sweetness.
The palate, it sat exceptionally light and showed a superior sessionability about this one. The carbonation seems good for the style and okay to me, yeah I know its one of light lagers, yeah well.
Overall, well, its Natural Ice, a beer that has quenched me after hockey for more than enough years and has helped sleep fairly well at night after I used to pound probably the whole 12 pack. Sigh, well, now that I’m a good 7 years older from my original beer roots and I look at this beer. Hmmm...its not bad, but probably not something I’d seek to buy. Would I have it again after a hockey game these days? Hmmm...probably would. Cheers. That’s all that matters.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Sampled from 25oz can into pint glass.
Appearance: pours a sudsy white 1" head that falls fairly quick with some lacing left behind. Color is clear pale straw. Plenty of streaming bubbles.
Aroma: mild aroma of corn sweetness, white bread and not much else.
Mouthfeel: light and frothy with an easy dry finish. Quite watery.
Flavor: some light barley notes, plenty of corn sweetness, maybe a bit of husks, with a hint of hops in the end. There is a slight alcohol presence in the finish.
Overall: First time I have ever tried this. I wasn’t expecting much, so was surprised that it was not offensive at all. Definitely want to drink this one ice cold.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
The body has a light golden straw color with very good clarity. Its head is bright white and foamy. It builds up fast and thick before fading out quickly, leaving some bubbles around the edges of the glass. The aroma is very simple and typical of the style. There is a sweet grainy malt scent with lots of corn and rice adjunct notes and some far off grassy hops. Its flavor is similar to its aroma with a light sweet malt flavor that is full of grainy corn and rice. The hops add a light grassy flavor and some bitterness to the finish which ends quickly with a slightly corny aftertaste. It has a light body with a smooth watery texture and moderate carbonation. Overall it is light and easy to drink with a light price tag. It’s not bad for a cheap buzz although it’s not a beer I would normally seek out.
