COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Natural Light is brewed with a blend of premium American and imported hops, and a combination of malt and corn. Its longer brewing process produces a lighter body, fewer calories and an easy-drinking character.

Wonderfully blended, balanced and brewed for a consistently clean flavor, light body and satisfying refreshment.

Natural Light was Anheuser-Busch’s first reduced-calorie light beer.

And it comes with the cigarette butt already in the can, to save time.

Appearance: Pours a clear, thin-looking beer with just a hint of yellow hue to it and topped with a tall, fizzy, white head that crackles away like a bowl of Rice Krispies. Smell: A faint, meager, ill-defined sweetness and little else. Taste: Super duper pale maltiness with just a light bit of sweetness. Teeny-weenie floral hop character and bitterness. Then, the tastes clear away in an instant, leaving you with an empty, though clean finish. Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: A hint of alcohol and flavor and bubbly character like soda water. It’s Light-ness is without question, though how Natural it is will, most likely, be debated for years to come.

Can. Poured pale yellow with a white head. Almost no aroma, very light hint of malt. Watery body. Flavor is malt and cereal grain.

When I was a kid, we drank this beer all the time. Of course, we drank this because all the other kids were drinking it. In fact, it was generally believed that more Natural Light was consumed in Chapel Hill per capita than anywhere else on the planet. This was probably urban legend, but it seemed that this was the school beer. I suppose that it was a way of drinking all night and surviving it, owing to the near non-existence of the stuff in terms of ethanol. What’s more natural than Natural Light? Underage drinking, of course!

A: Natty Light is an amazing beverage in that it’s physical appearance is almost identical to water. Some bubbles and a slight yellowish tint are the only indications as to its true form. S: The odor of this beer is of corn and grain. I chose to use odor because I associate aroma with pleasant smells, this is not the case here. T: The taste is the same as the scent, corn and grains, with a hint of bad decisions. It’s slightly sweet and grainy, with no hop character at all. Not that I’m surprised. M: This is probably the best part about Natty Light. It’s light and bubbly, and for a second, you almost forget what it is that you’re drinking. Then you taste it. D: For something that so closely resembles water, this has awful drinkability. Normally light lagers just don’t taste like much, but Natty Light tastes bad.

Beers like this are why I thought I didn’t like beer when I started undergrad... so much for that!

Apparently the drink of choice at college parties in Northwestern Ohio. I’ve had the displeasure of partaking. Pours the lightest of straw colors with absolutely no head. Smells of straight grain husk. Tastes not much better, as it adds in a bit of cardboard. Feel is way, way too carbonated, although it does the service of carrying away many of the flavors. Drinks quickly, only because I want it out of my mouth. Serving type: can Reviewed on: 10-08-2010
