2013 release - new world saison
Natural selection is set up to give four young, up and coming brewers studying at the International Centre for Brewing and Distilling at Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh the chance to design, market and launch an inventive beer to the public.
This year they have come up with a New World saison called origin 5.5%. This crisp, dry and fruity beer has a pronounced hop characteristic from the galaxy hops. This Belgian style beer is brewed with rye using saison yeast to give a unique taste.

Thanks to the old folks for bringing this back from Scotland. Pour a slightly hazy copper, with a huge fluffy n’ frothy white head. Aroma is of slight citrus, slight basement/barnyard, sligt fruity hops. The taste is slightly sweet upfront, with a slight sourness to it, and a semidry slightly bitter end. Average body, with a fizzy carbonation.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Light haze on this amber beer. Tidy pale cream coloured head. Light fruity nose. Light semi dry palate. Fine carbonation. The light malt flashes by reveals tangy generic fruits. Develops a little grapefruit and orange hop bitterness. Light dry finish. Interesting and drinkable.
