2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Half liter draft at brewpub. I gave this a similar score as the Tostada: average beer overall. It is a pils, but it is very cloudy and kind of wheaty and sweet for that style. Thin body, medium carbonation, and has the same weird bitter aftertaste as the tostada. An easy drinking, non-adventurous but solid lager. But cheers to the brewers in Madrid! Not many here.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught. Hazy golden colour with a medium white head. Fresh malt and bread aroma with some yeast. Good filling mouthfeel. Pleasant fresh hoppish, bit wheaty sweetish flavour with malt and a good bitter tingerling finish. After just being to Magister 3 minutes away this was really good!

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
At brew pub in Central Madrid. Very boring beer, but you got to hand it to this place for intervening into the shitbox Spanish beer scene which is dominated by rubbish lagers. This actually has some malt character and some hops. A little too sweet for such a weak abv though.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught at the brewpub. Hazy golden color with small head. Malty aroma with grainy and grassy hints. Malty, honeyish and slightly fruity flavor. Very basic and simple helles. Somewhat one dimensional but it goes well with the food.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at the brewpub. Hazy blond body with an off-white head. Good lace. The aroma is a bit weak, maybe some oranges. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour. The flavour has also some oranges and German hops. Bit faint, but ok.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewpub in Madrid. It is labeled as Helles on the tap and Rubia on the menu. Cloudy yellow brew with decent clingy white head. Strong malty flavor for a pilsener. Slight citrusy sweetness. Clean and crisp on the finish. Good hop balance. Better than the dunkel, I thought. The best beer I had in Spain, but that’s not saying much.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not extremely memorable beer. I had this beer on tap at Naturbier and I’m not sure if there is any other way. It did not appear like they bottled and distributed. Very nice atmosphere in the brewpub. Basement had taps at each table for self service. Computer would measure the amount of "helles" or "dunkles" that came out of the tap. In any case, the helles was quite light, refreshing. Both beers had an extremely fresh yeasty taste to them due to the high turnover.
A bit of wheat, citrus, and malty taste. Very lightly hopped. Not bad. But did not knock my socks off either. In fact, I preferred the Vienna, which I feel may be a bit underrated on this site so far.

Average pilsener with good long aftertaste. A classy take on organic beer from a brewpub in Madrid, the city of crap beer. Unfiltered and raw.
