Draught at the brewpub. Slightly hazy dark amber color small long lasting head. Toasty and nutty aroma.Toasty, nutty and biscuity flavor with hints of toffee and berries. Slightly chewy palate with soft carbonation. Good basic dark lager with fresh toasty maltiness. Much better than the Naturbier Helles.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 diabel (1584) - Aarschot, BELGIUM - MAY 6, 2008
Draught at the brewpub. Hazy, brown body. Lightly brownish, head with an excellent lace. Bit watery aroma of malts, cane sugar, smoke, ... Moderately bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Moderately bitter finish. Ok, but average.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 norsedoc (248) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 26, 2008
On tap @ Naturbier. Listed as Dunkel on the tap and Tostada Especial on the menu. Brown in color with little head. Dry, grainy, and dusty flavor. Short little finish. Average beer.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 BartC (708) - Lichtaart, BELGIUM - MAR 18, 2008
Amber beer with a small beige head and minimal carbonation. At first I tasted hardly anything but than caramel suddenly pops up for just a brief second. Hardly any aftertaste. Better than the other Spanish beers I had during my visit in Madrid.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bboeckl (142) - Grafton, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 10, 2008
On tap at Naturbier. Strong caramel aroma and flavor. Dark brown coloration. Very sweet taste of roasted munich malt. Extremely fresh due to the high turnover of beer on tap at Naturbier. Not extremely complex but quite good with the basics. One of the better beers I have had in Spain.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 CamdenD (979) - Madrid, SPAIN - DEC 25, 2007
This seemed to be more of a smoked beer to me then a classic vienna, but nonetheless it’s a very uniquely styled beer again probably gaining some points due to the fact that Naturbier exists in the beer-vacuum that is Madrid. Nicely done.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 yespr (26042) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - OCT 24, 2007
From tap at the brewpub (on tap as Dunkles). Pours brown with a white lacing head. Caramel and light roasted malt aroma, slight butterish. Sweet flavour, a bit like toffee. Has clear malt notes and caramel in a sweet blend. Finish is soft and slight breadish, but sweet. Not bad, but just too sweet to be great. Shows some great lacework on the glass, I couldn’t finish it so I don’t know how it compares to the helles.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 voota (765) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUL 24, 2007
At the brewpub, clear copper with a white head. Aroma of caramel, german hops, and some raw grain. Smooth caramel flavour with a light hop profile giving some enjoyment. The finish is quite dry for the style. Like the Marzen, its basic as you could imagine... but one of those beers you could just sit and drink all night.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ughsmash (6670) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 11, 2007
On tap at Naturbier. Poured a deeper reddish-brown with a short, creamy beige head. Sweet toasted caramel along with.. well.. not much else in the aroma.. perhaps a touch of lighter fruits peeked through. The flavor had a bit more going on than the aroma indicated.. toasty caramel and some darker fruits at the base with a mild herbal bitterness.. OK. Lighter-bodied on the palate and very dry.. somewhat sweet.. short, toasty finish.
