Fin (7276) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 15, 2008
Bottle picked up from Westholme, Londis, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon, had this 11-05-08 Pours deepest darkest brown with a small beige head. Good fruity roasted taste, marvellously flavoursome with a great punchy bitterness. There is just a smidgen of toffeeness in this but this is soon beaten back by the roasted bitter assault. A quite lovely porter that even allowing for some hoppiness seems to be a very good example of the style, I for one loved this.

Pour deep black with a small creamy beige film head. Aroma is really amazing, coffee, roasted, chocolate - all very composed. Fine carbonation. Flavour is lovely too, rather dry, a little hops, good coffee, chocolate and cocoa. Very nice porter!

Bottle: Appearance, thick coca-cola. Light chocolatey aroma with dark malts, some biscuity notes nothing too strong though. A really rounded sweet (but not too sweet) flavour of burnt toast and vanilla. Lightly bitter finish which is awefully pleasant and leaves you glowing.
