3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Fin (6180) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 15, 2008
Bottle picked up from Westholme, Londis, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon, had this 11-05-08 Pours deepest darkest brown with a small beige head. Good fruity roasted taste, marvellously flavoursome with a great punchy bitterness. There is just a smidgen of toffeeness in this but this is soon beaten back by the roasted bitter assault. A quite lovely porter that even allowing for some hoppiness seems to be a very good example of the style, I for one loved this.

This is what a porter should be. Coffee dryness but with malty sweetness to balance it. Hop bitterness and flavor is low but present
