JDW, Rochester. Not good. Sugary. Tastes like a home brew made from kit and added sugar. Way too sugary. Few hops. Drinkable, but a disaster coming from a commercial brewery.

Handpulled cask at Lloyds no 1 (JDW) Watford. Good condition, very fresh, amber with off-white head. Hops dominate over malts with plenty of fruit. Good easy drinking best bitter.

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Amber colour with lasting beige head. Beer condition at this pub certainly has improved. Earthy muddy aroma. OK in mouth. Decent mid rich fruit flavour. Moderate rich bitter. Rounded earthy hop finish. Decent flavour for a best bitter. Touch of nettle to the hop too. Drinkable.

Cask conditioned at FFTMC, Oxford 24-05-08 Good amber colour with great clarity and a small white bubbly head. Initially some sweet marmalade but then a punchy fruitiness and some lingering honey flavours, a touch sweet but very nice, bitterness at end, very tasty.

Half, cask handpulled at one of the better Wetherspoon’s I have been to; The Gatehouse Highgate, northern part of London. Sat down at the pub for a couple of well-kept half pints after having paid tribute to Karl Marx at the Highgate Cementery.
Clear amber-brown body with a lacing head and a filmy layer. Moderate fruit-floral nose followed by a round and well hopped taste with sappy fruits and bittersweet endnotes. Medium palate. Served at the right drinking temperature (30.04.2008).
