Bottle from York Beer & Wine. This is a dark brown beer with malty, nutty and slight red fruity flavours followed by a roasted finish. Very good for a low ABV beeer.

Pretty average mild, not especially sweet or nutty. A simple session beer, not a great example of mild.

April, 2012 JDW, Rochester. Chocolate malts prominent, developing a raspy burnt flavour that is dry, robust and interesting. Drinkable, though not sure how much I could take.

Fine textured mild. Some aroma but plenty of understated taste - coffees and chocolates and only very mildly roasted. Small creamy head.

Dark maroon with a creamy lasting, tan frothy, head. Smells of dark berries, nuts with lgiht malt and a light sweet toffee in the background. Thin light body with a slight creamy element. Tastes strong berries (overrip fruit), caramel and ash that combies with a smoked sharp alcohol bitter finish. Too watery and overall bland

Leighton (10540) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 17, 2012
Cask at Baxter’s Court, JDW, London. Pours clear, light brown with a sturdy, white foam head. Toasty bread and nuts in the nose. Light sweet flavor with lots of dry toast, hazelnut, faint bitter cocoa, grains and dirt. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Light sweetness to finish, with toasty - almost smokey, in fact - malts, hints of cigarettes, dirt and dim baking cocoa. The beer has some interesting characteristics, but none are exceptional.
