Bottle. Mine speaks of being brewed by Leroy . Guess they are a bit tied together with SAS and Van Eecke. Anyways, same ABV, same name, different label and brewer. Pours clear blonde, head fades instantly. Smell is malty, some lageryeast. bit sweet, mildly chemical. Taste ; enters rather bitter, but turns more intense towards the malty, typical lager backbone. Crispy, feels more natural than the common lagers. Easy drinkable, good carbo.

Commissioned lager classified as a strong lager here, but I think this was intended as a Dortmunder - what is more, I am convinced this is (or was at a certain point in the past) an alias of Sasbräu. Pure golden blonde beer with medium, snow white, creamy head; bready aroma, malt sweet but pure and genuine, some grassy hops, mild bitter finish. Straightforward as any decent lager - but surely one of the best bottom-fermented beers in Belgium.

Een blond bier waarvan er 13 in een dozijn zijn, niets speciaals, zeker de smaak niet

Pours clear golden with a medium white head. Nose is cereals and sweetness. In mouth, aromas of malts, grassy hops and fruits. Some hoppy bitterness, but principally sweetness. Strangely sweet for a pils (even an imperial one), it’s like an hybrid between a pils and a Belgian strong ale or Tripel. Not that bad, but quite unifnished.

Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Medium sized fluffy and airy white foamy head on top of an almost clear yellow colored beer. Aromas of hops, grapes, wood, yeast, malts, corn, light sweet vinous, some grains and older herbs. Flavours of flowers, hops, herbs, malts, light floral, some grass/hay ish tones bitters, some yeast, some older plant ish tones and a light grassy malty spicyness. Aftertaste is a mix of malts, porridge, hay, some grains and light bitter. Medium carbo, creamy spiced mouthfeel, medium body and an thick creamy to oily texture. Nothing crazy. For 6.4%ABV it’s mehhh...

They say that ’Kerelsbier is food’, but that’s far from the truth. This flat blond beer pours away like water.

25cl bottle. Golden colour with a white head. Sweetness in the nose. It starts more hoppy than sweet. The nice bitter aroma continues and get paired with a nice only light sweet aroma, that goes into direction of a Tripel. The end is more hop-bitter than sweet, very nice, but nor very complex. --> interesting hoppy-bitter beer. Nice to drink but not too complex!
