Aubrey (2614), Denver, Colorado, USA Oct 9, 2007 Bottle at the Kilimanjaro Airport: Pale yellow. Lively carbonation. Bready malts; kind of toasted. Only a mild bitterness, but it was a decent attempt at balancing things out. Too bad the sweetness was corny and unappealing, and I didn’t care for the flavors -- er, off-flavors -- in this beer. Then the power went out in the airport. Fitting for my experience with this beer. jazz88 (2206), San Francisco, California, USA Sep 4, 2007 Bottle in Arusha, Tanzania. Light golden color with a diminished white head. Light hop and floral notes. This is a simple an unoffensive beer and one of the lowest abv beers around. Beer_2000 (1269), Kristiansand, Norway Jul 28, 2007 500ml bottle @ Seronera Wildlife Lodge, Serengetti. Finally something different from Safari and Kilmajara lager. Pale golden body with a white head. Fine malty aroma. A clean and nice malty flavor, rather light but refreshing. Not this sticky sweet and sour feeling as often with many other pilsners from this brewery. highlandlad (1200), Sydney, Australia Sep 26, 2005 If you like Bud, this Ndovu’s for you. Fans of American macro lagers may find this to their taste, as it’s the most soda-like and flavourless of Tanzanian beers. Looks okay in the glass: thin gold, decent lasting head. The aroma shows faint grassy hops and corn starch. However, the palate is ridiculously fizzy, with the sort of carbonation that really grabs at the throat. Its redeeming feature is the absence of the metallic hop that mars the rest of the Tanzanian Breweries’ lines. Instead, you get faint corn and carbon dioxide. An insipid lager.
