3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Handbottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a hazy golden body and a small white head. Aroma of sweet and slightly spiced. Obvious and strong stonefruit notes that are not unpleasant. A little bit of cotton candy. Taste is dry, candi sugar, pepper and a bit of tangy apricot. A bit herbal/grainy. Long, dry, grainy finish. Good saison. Another solid beer from NBC!

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this growler.
The beer pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. The aroma is a mix of apricots and yeast. The flavor is more of the same with some spices, apricots, peaches, yeast and sugar. The beer is pretty sweet overall. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sampled on draft at Zeno’s in State College PA this beer poured a hazy pale yellow-golden color with a huge foamy orange-white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was dry, tart and vinegary with faint notes of apricot, date and must. The flavor was tart and musty with notes of vinegar, faint apricot. Long musty vinegar and faint vague fruit finish. Medium body. Not my style.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled at an esbls tasting. Cloudy golden with a big off white head. Basement funk nose that also has apricot. A smooth feel. This is nicely fruity and malty. That saison funkiness is authentic. I like it.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled at the 7th Annual Parkville Microbrew Festival on April 24th, 2010. Hazy cloudy dark gold with a fine fluffy white head. Simply and unusual beer. The apricot is seriously present from start to finish, but not over done. Has an as promised tip of the tongue biting black pepper. This somehow works in the blend and does not distract. Not my stylistic cup of tea, and yet I still really really liked it.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Growler. Pours a hazy golden orange with a thick white head. Aroma of spices, Belgian yeast, pepper, and a hint of light fruits. Flavor of spices, yeast, and bready malts upfront with apricot undertones. This one seemed more spicy vs. apricoty. Very tasty stuff, great saison!
