Our version of the classic English-style Nut Brown Ale has a blend of 6 different malts and very little hop bitterness. The malts are nutty and sweeter tilting toward coffee, toffee, and caramel.

On tap at The Bottle Shop London. Hazy brown colour lasting collar beige bubbles. A little sour some brown malt. It’s OK if a little one dimensional. Some milk chocolate flavour. Not much hop. OK fizzy condition.

With a definitive nod to the English style of Brown Ale, Brunette is a mild, nutty brew with malty-sweet notes of cream and caramel. Aroma is somewhat muted, but there are nice notes of toasted malt and pecan. Color is mahogany brown with minimal head. Mouthfeel has a nice richness for a style that’s often light on body. Brunette was a lovely supper companion for my fish and chips.

Arômes un peu trop traînant pour moi ... Un côté "nuts" en effet, puis aussi, c’est très "brown", c’est pas mal exécuté mais ça me lasse assez vite ...

355ml can (Beer Fox, Riga)
Dirty aroma, malty and brown, but earthy and dusty. Watery palate, a bit fizzy. Dirty cheap chocolate taste. Sweetish, fizzy. Dirty ashtray. Messy and pretty crap. An insult to brown ales.

330ml can (thanks FatPhil). Quite hazy brown color. Medium size, fluffy yellow head, stays. Malty, grainy, dusty, buckwheat in aroma. Roast, sweet, buckwheat, bit of chocolate and some citrus in taste. Mild chocolate and dusty grains in aftertaste. Bit metallic and messy in taste. Drinkable, but nothing to brag about.

Can at home in Richmond, as ’Nebraska Brunette’, 12 fl oz, 4.7%. Very dark brown, small foamy tan head. Aroma is redcurrant, black forest gateau, chocolate and yeast. Body is medium, tingly carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is chocolate, dark wild berries, raisin with some earth and metallic notes. Surprisingly fruity. Interesting up-front, but I liked it less the more I drank of it.
