Commercial Description:
Our pale ale is deep golden in color and characterized by a floral/citrus-like aroma, with medium maltiness and low bitterness -- a very enjoyable beer, of course.

Last beer sampled on draught at the GTMW ’08 (hic!) Pours a semi-clear copper amber brew with a decent off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of light caramel malt, citrus zest, some grapefruit and a touch of toffee. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with a stronger citrus flavor than caramel or golden malts. Finish is mildly bitter that quickly disappears in the aftertaste.

Great Taste of the Midwest 2008

Locating one of the two brewpubs that made the haul from Nebraska I chose the best of the two remaining options. In some ways I wish I would have checked out Gottberg as well but there are only so many hours (and stomach space) at a festival event. This one is a typical local pale ale - nothing exceptional but at the same time well done.

Aroma / Appearance - Resiny hops and citrus form a light airy combination above the transparent bronze body. Not aggressive at all it sits patiently until you are ready to move on.

Flavor / Palate - Warm hops leave a bitter trace on the tongue before fading quickly in the back of the throat. Obviously very easy drinking thanks to the relatively low alcohol it refreshes a worn out palate nicely.

On tap at Slowdown. Pours a reddish amber with a yellow-beige frothy head. Perhaps my favorite "regular" tap here. This has a solid aroma of citrus grapefruit and evergreens. The flavor is classic brewpub pale ale with a robust orange and chocolate essence to the big hop bitterness. tasty and refreshing.
