Tap at Rattle N Hum. Pale amber with a tight creamy white head. The nose is quite piny but with a distinct note of caramel and toffee on the back. It’s not really sweet – in fact the bitterness here is quite assertive. A bit of tropical juiciness on the back but with a sort of muddy/yeasty quality that I could probably do without. Quite woody on the finish. An okay pale ale.

Growler from the brewer’s via bu11zeye. Pours with a small white head and a clear golden body. Nice aroma of herbal and grassy hops, light caramel. Quite floral. Taste is flowery, floral and hoppy. Really good and exceptionally drinkable. Light bubbles and low residual sugars. Well crafted.

Tap at Rattle n Hum. Really hoppy for a Pale Ale, but I guess that’s the American part. Pours an orange-yellow with a medium, white head. Nose is heavy cascade hops with some pine and citrus. More hop in the flavor, with a bit of sweet malt to balance. Medium-light in body, nice carbonation - an easy drinker. Mild earthy bitterness in the finish.

Tap @ brewpub. Clear, golden orange appearance with an off white head. Really a nice grapefruit, piney hoppy, inviting aroma. Ganja, resiny, piney, big grapefruity hoppy flavor with a mild bitterness in the aftertaste. Nice one.

Tap, Blind Tiger, Bleecker St, 19/12/11. Clean bronze, subsiding head. Odd aroma: honey, matchbox, floral hints, leafiness. Chilled and anonymous but with decent malts (cashew, Rich Tea) emerging in the afters. Stale boiled sweet notes- could be orange flavoured. SPANGLES. Too English, fizzy and cold for its own good.

Draught. Low but lasting fluffy white head. Clear golden body. Mild sweet apple pear honey aroma and flavor with heavy carbonation and a long bitter aftertaste.
