A beautiful golden crossbreed of a Belgian Tripel and a West Coast IPA. Combining the best attributes of each style in a remarkable way, this beer explodes with spiciness, tropical fruit, and an intense citrus bitterness that will leave you begging for more! Hopped with Warrior, Chinook, Centential, and Cascade hops.

Draft at Teresa’s. Poured a thicker golden/orange with a dense white head. Aroma was loaded with grain, fruity esters, yeast And alcohol. The body was slightly syrupy with average carbonation and lots of alcohol heat. Flavor was a combo of grains and alcohol with some tropical fruits. Blah.....to hot.

On tap at P.O.P.E, this Belgian Strong pours dark orange amber with a small tan head. The aroma is a bit grassy with sweet notes and Belgian yeast. The flavor is a combination of light sweet and funky tart notes. The medium body is easy drinking with vague hop notes on the palate.

Hazy golden yellow pour with a thin white head that doesnt leave much lacing. Aroma is very lemony, with some orange zest and white pepper. Faint citrus bitterness. Taste is cloyingly sweet. Lots of lemon and orange, some grass. Not much bitterness up front, but the bitter finish lingers for a while. Palate is okay, medium body with average carbonation. Not bad. I wouldnt go so far as to call it a cross between an IPA and a tripel, more like a tripel with modest hop addition.

On tap at Quotations in Media, during their 12 beers of Christmas event. On paper, this beer is right up my alley given my affinity for both IPAs and Belgian Tripels. But admittedly I guessed at most of the rating above because this was one of my last beers on a long evening. So I will need to try this one again soon....

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2011 Draft, pours hazed gold with white head. Nose has big spicy yeast and coriander. Flavors have sweet orange and tropical fruit, spicy yeast and sweet candy sugar. 3.4 12/23/11, draft at the brewery, 24oz for $6 and it went down easy, pretty solid hoppy triple, lots of citrus fruit working perfectly with a spicy yeast profile, alcohol is in check and this never becomes too sweet. Really exactly what Haymarket is going for. Very well done. 3.9

Draft, pours a golden body with a full white head. Nice hop tones in the aroma, citrus, fruit and a sweeter honey tone. Dusty earth tones a fruit sweetness and a sticky warming. Feels to sweet and boozy despite the fragrant hop tones.

Nose is alcohol, honey, limited hop presence though some spice. Flavor is alcohol (solidly boozy) with some caramel. Hops present themselves more as bitterness than floral.

Location: Sampled at the NY Brewfest on Governor’s Island, 6/19/10

Aroma: The nose is has some hops to it, pine, spice, grass, and some citrus
Appearance: It pours a somewhat cloudy golden color with an off-white head
Flavor: The taste combines the spicy malts with a bit of hoppy bitterness
Palate: It has a medium body and a more then average carbonation to it
Overall Impression: Overall, I thought this beer was plenty solid, but not overly great. Just a solid and drinkable brew. I’d drink it again.

The appearance is clear gold/orange white head. The aroma is fruity belgian yeast, spicy, bubble gum. The flavor is fruity bubble gum, spicy, belgian yeasty. The finish is spicy, sweet, citrus. Medium in body, syrupy mouthfeel. Decent, interesting, not worth as much as they charge for this beer.
