750ml bottle courtesy of Andrew... Pours a mostly opaque golden orange brown hue and topped with a creamy white head... Assertive aroma of soft oak with black pepper, lots of white wine actually with buttery citrus notes... Flavors are more of the same with less pepper, more white wine and citrusy oak qualities much of it coming from the saison yeast. Nice character with a quality flavor profile. A slight dry bitterness on the backend. Solid to my surprise.

seriously sweet and fruity, which is not necessarily a bad thing, just that I think it takes away from the yeasty dryness of a traditional saison. The apricot gives a little off taste in the finish which takes the taste value down a little. Interesting take but is a little too sweet for my tastes.

Bottled sample via and shared with oakbluff. Pale gold in colour with strong carbonation and a bit of haze. Aromas are of pilsner malt, white pepper, Belgian yeast, and a bit of white grape. More of the pils/pepper combo in the mouth, along with notes of lime rind and cotton. Minerally dry on the finish. Not a whole lot of apricot flavour, but a nice saison nonetheless.

Shared by John and Amy, thanks guys. Capped 750mL 2011 bottle. I am glad to try this without having to shell out some ridiculous dough. Pours with a nicely thick yet small head. Color is a nice shade of dull golden. Aroma is sweet (not sugary or artificial) apricot with lots of dry apricot skins. Its almost fuzzy in the aroma. There is also a slight vegetal aspect to the apricot. Its not over the top fruitiness, its mixed up with a very tropical fruit Belgian brew. Flavor is dry all the way despite a very natural apricot fruitiness all over the flavor. There is almost a furry apricot mouthfeel to the beer. Medium thick body body works well the the structure of the beer. I really liked this but will not every shell out 20 bucks for it. Its a shame. I think the vegetal aspect I picked up is the pepper.

Very smooth drinker, good mouthfeel. Funky aroma. Distinct apricot flavour. Nice one, with chardonnay barreling adding to the flavour and enhancing the fruitiness.

750 ml bottle, shared by hwwty4. Pour is a cloudy yellow white, along with a smallish white head. Head fizzles with a faint crackling sound. Aroma is green pepper vegetal, black pepper, apricot fruit, and a soft grainy malt. Taste is the apricot initially, turns to chewy malt, then finishes with some bright pepper, leather, and residual dry earthiness. Some weird residual fruit honey sweetness in the longish finish. Palate is medium bodied, finishes dry in the back (which is the first time I noticed any of the wood barrel treatment) with lingering yeast and pepper. Interesting. Thanks for sharing this one Bill - it had been on the list.

750mL poured into HFB stemware. Hazy orange, golden around the edges. Nose is dry, earthy funk, some pepper, and barrel. Apricots are fleeting, what a shame. Flinty, mineral-like brett and dry as hell chard barrel are almost complimented by a sweet malt apearance, some spicy farmhouse yeast. A bit all over the place, I’d like to revisit this 6-12 months from now.

The beer pours light golden speckled orange amber with a nice off white head. The aroma has light sweet apricot notes with some decent funk yeast notes. The flavor has light notes of the pepper and apricots on some Belgian yeast notes. The body is medium and goes down easy, dry from the Chardonnay barrels.

Pours hazy amber into a tulip. Bright white head with medium length recedes to skim surface. Dried apricot aromas. Crisp with sour summer pit fruit upfront turning to aspirin in the dry lasting finish.
