Beautiful black pour w/ a big mocha head that leaves a large ring of lacing. The aroma is licorice, coffee, chocolate, and booze. The taste is light and creamy upfront and finishes bitter on the palate making this more of a sipping beer. This is a rich and flavorful imperial! Makes for a great dessert beer!

750ml bottle pours out almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is vanilla bourbon oak roast malts and some chocolate. Taste is as the nose with a nice booze bourbon barrel kick vanilla chocolate malts and some light smoke.

"Starts out incredibly smooth and balanced. Roasted malts, chocolate, and the obvious but not overpowering whiskey presence. Like the other Nebraska barrel projects, super smooth. The only thing preventing a 4.5 here is a little heat in the flavor as the beer warms, but it is approaching world class even so."

Quite dark, classic rich vanilla and brown sugar impy, sweet, boozy, rich dark malts, has some basic vanilla, touch of booziness. A straightforward bourbon impy.

Bottle, 2013 vintage, 07/02/2014. Pours deep black, thick fluffy light tan head, great retention and copious, sticky lacing. Aroma is powdered baker’s chocolate, solid roast base, coffee overtones, marshmallow, red fruit with sweetish whiskey finish. Taste is dark chocolate syrup, held in check by strong roast and coffee notes, licorice, hops noticeable towards the finish, prominent whiskey lingering in the aftertaste. Thick, dense body. Nice.

A huge frothy khaki head fills the snifter to the brim. A black body presents a thin auburn highlight at the stem. The vessel is decorated with a few soapy thick peninsulas of lace once the monstrous head dissipates.
Mildly assertive, very well integrated layers of lightly toasted nuts and whiskey are expressed in the initial aroma. The assertive spirit characteristics possess chocolate and heavy raisin notes, making them behave on a different plane. The components are mingling very nicely, yet the party doesn’t seem to have quite started. As this one moves well into the sixties, a heavier coffee-chocolate layer emerges. This additional influence works exceptionally well with the fruity spirit notes.
A silky smooth medium plus body caresses the palate offering additional notes of vanilla, chocolate, and treacle, with a hint of smoke as the liquid breezes through. Bold fruity esters combine with the oak tannins creating an assertive spicy dryness. Residuals are a conglomeration of all the previously mentioned components. A bit of gooey chocolate chip cookie emerges late. As the serving layers up, some dark cherry flavors and a bit of stickiness forms.

Poured from a 750ml bottle that two years old, and we are listening Ran Jam. The aroma is cherries, slight brettanomyces funk, chocolate. The flavor is chocolate, brettanomyces funky cherries, slight medicinal, maltiness. The whiskey is well hidden, no heat. Tasty even with the infection. "Black Betty had a child bam-ba-lam the damn thing gone wild" just sayin’

On draught at Belmont Station for Bigger Badder Blacker Week. Pitch black color. Aroma is tobacco, oak smoke, coffee, and dark roasted malt. Taste is dark chocolate, cream, smoke, whiskey-soaked wood, and black malt. Roasting, chocolate, and whiskey notes get more pronounced as it opens up.
