4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black Betty is full of flavor. Chocolate, coffee, dough, leather, earthy, alcohol, butterscotch, licorice, raisin, smoke, vanilla, woody. On tap at Greenman Brewery Asheville NC. I think the owner said it was $350 for a pony keg. My hat goes off to Nebraska Brewing for one of the better beers I have had in the barrel aged style. Does not have an overpowering whisky flavor. Awesome flavor and very smooth. Surprisingly easy to drink for 9%. Well balanced. It will keep you warm on a cold December night.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Great example of a barrel aged imperial stout. Aged about 18 months...pours black with coffee head. Smooth, chocolate, mild anise, some vanilla and a sticky finish. Bourbon is blended and smooth in this beer better than most barrel aged stouts. Really enjoyed this one.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Location/Date:Bottle split Dave on October 26th, 2012.
Appearance:Pours dark opaque with red head.
Aroma:Aroma of whiskey, roast, nice amount but not overdoing it.
Taste:Medium roastiness, light bitter, faint oak, whiskey/bourbon.
Palate:Medium body, light lingering aftertaste. Not slick like other IS. Covers alcohol well.
Summary: Thanks for sharing this one Dave! I really enjoyed this one because it was a balanced, not as super aggressive IS. The whiskey is there but not killer, which is really nice. Wish I could have this more often.Note: Iím shocked none of the people I follow on RB have had this yet. Wow. Yes, I know Dave will rate within two days.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by Paul. Enjoyed while sitting on the dock of the bay.
The beer is black with a giant, foamy tan head that completely costs the snifter in lacing. The aroma brings a healthy whiskey presence, followed by roast, vanilla, and oak. The flavor is very whiskey forward, though not hot. Smooth and well balanced. Good stuff. The price is a bit steep at $25 per bottle. I would have this again.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Plenty of nutty, vanilla oak aromas coming off of this beer. Sweet on the nose. A bit bitter on the finish, also roasty. Expecting this to be. A bit sweeter, perhaps chocolatey given the aroma. But overall a strong effort.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Danís courtesy of Aaron. Thanks man!!! Pour is pitch black with a two-finger brown head and great lacing. Molasses, coconut, light peat, wood, anise, light cocoa, and coffee in the aroma. Taste is really smooth, light roast, dark chocolate, espresso, bourbon, anise, vanilla, and coconut with a lightly bitter finish. Mouth coating mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Not bad.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ Danís house, courtesy of foppa78. Pours a deep black appearance with a nice, thick brown head. Rich dark chocolate, dark caramel, burnt woody, a bit charred, light candy aroma. A little boozy, dark grape, whiskey, somewhat boozy, dark chocolate, a touch tart fruity, roasty flavor. Pretty tasty but not elite.
