Bottle shared at Paul’s Thanksgiving tasting. Pours near black with a beige head. Dark roasted malt aroma with whiskey, oak, and a touch of vanilla. The flavor has roasted malt and whiskey, with a light sweetness and light smokey notes. Pretty good.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours deep black with nice creamy tan head, aroma has notes of chocolate, coffee, sweet dark fruit, toffee, and lots of roasted malt. Taste is a nice balance of sweet and dry, with sweet caramel, toffee, and chocolate mixing with bitter coffee, roast, finishing dry and slightly sweet and wanting more. Delicious stuff.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample poured from a bottle at FOBAB 2010. Pours an inky, opaque black with a small brown head. The aroma doesn’t pop like I wanted it to, but was still nice, with notes of roasted malts, tobacco, whiskey, vanilla, oak, and coffee. The flavor picks up a bit, with deep roasted malts, molasses, vanilla, whiskey, coffee, oak, dark fruits, and a touch of char. Full-bodied, with a rich, smooth mouthfeel and low carbonation. My first Nebraska brew was a good one.

Bottle shared generously by Alex. Pours a pure black color with a small white head. A sweet bourbon and wood nose. Sweet flavors merge from huge roasted malts and lots of bourbon, vanilla, oak. Very nice.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks to thirdeye11 for sharing this bottle.
Pours dark brown to black with a tan head. The aroma is coffee with roasted malt. The flavor is more of the same with some oaked character as well. Not a real strong whiskey character in the beer but still a very good imperial stout. Medium, creamy mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Nearly opaque black color with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, some smoke, cocoa, vanilla, nuts, and bourbon. Taste of roast, dark chocolate, smoke, vanilla, bourbon, and alcohol in the finish.
