4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Location/Date:Bottle split Dave on October 26th, 2012.
Appearance:Pours dark opaque with red head.
Aroma:Aroma of whiskey, roast, nice amount but not overdoing it.
Taste:Medium roastiness, light bitter, faint oak, whiskey/bourbon.
Palate:Medium body, light lingering aftertaste. Not slick like other IS. Covers alcohol well.
Summary: Thanks for sharing this one Dave! I really enjoyed this one because it was a balanced, not as super aggressive IS. The whiskey is there but not killer, which is really nice. Wish I could have this more often.Note: I’m shocked none of the people I follow on RB have had this yet. Wow. Yes, I know Dave will rate within two days.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
From bottle, not aged. Dark black with thin khaki head. Coffee and roasted malt favors. Needs some aging; was a little hot. Very decent RIS, but for being BBA, not quite enough boozy flavor for my taste.

On tap at Champps Americana in Brookfield. Black pour with a little beige head. Aroma has bourbon chocolate with some oak. Taste is of dark chocolate, vanilla, some anise, some oak. Medium to full bodied. Alcohol is quite hidden. Finishes slightly more sweet than bitter. Nice solid barrel aged brew.15.2

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle pour at 2015 GTMW, pours black with a thin brown head, the aroma has a good amount of chocolate and roast, a bit of vanilla as well, the flavor has a roasty front end with some chocolate and vanilla in the finish, mouthfeel is a little bit thin but still decent, some coffee shows through too, not bad.

Enjoyed from a brandy glass. It looks almost too pretty to drink. Strong chocolate on the nose. Slight chocolate taste followed by coffee. All around a decent imperial stout.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Well this was a nice surprise. Thickish black body. Big woody bourbon aroma. Nice chocolate bourbon taste. Best comparison I could give is it is very similar to Barrel Aged Plead the 5th. Had the BAPT5 earlier in the day and almost felt like I was drinking it again.

The best beer we tried at my graduation. Black oil, creamy mouthfeel, chocolate, vanilla, wood, and whisky.
