COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Melange a Trois begins with a wonderfully big Strong Belgian-Style Blonde Ale and moves into the extraordinary category through an additional 6 month French Oak Chardonnay Wine Barrel maturation. The essence of Chardonnay permeates while a subtle sweetness remains from the Ale itself. Oak tannins combine to create a fascinating mesh of dry, sweet, and wine-like character. One of our favorites!

Bottle shared. Taste was bits of white wine, some soft fruits, sweet creamy maltiness, and a slightly bit tart, floral, oak. Very complex in that I could not figure out all what was going on. Chardonnay was probably the front runner of the flavor though. This was actually a detriment to the beer as I, for one of the first times ever, though a beer was a bit much and somewhat brash. Good, but probably not worth the crazy price tag that it demanded.

750 ml bottle shared by?? Pours a hazy golden amber color with a large white head. The aroma and flavor have some sweet malts, vanilla, oak, vinous/Chardonnay character, yeast, mild tart with a light herbal note. The finish is dry with some additional fruit character. Interesting, would like to revisit.

Bottle, pours golden, aroma is much like a wine. Some grapes in there. Flavour was winy and a bit sour, overall interesting offering

Cloudy straw pour with ring of bright white head. Bready triple esk aroma wiyh also bready flavor notes and refined lemon/vanilla sweetness. Reminds me of a lemon cookie. Pretty good, but def not worth thr price.

Bottle from Bruisin’ Ales. Pours dark yellow and very cloudy with an inch of white foam. Big Chardonnay notes on the nose. Lots of the Belgian yeast thing on the tongue along with the wine thing. Has a warming quality on the finish. Very nice.

bottle from DiarmaidBHK - Pours cloudy golden with a finger of white head. Aroma has the influence of the Chardonnay barrels with a wheaty yeasty thing going on. Taste is sweet, it hides its alcohol well. Palate is creamy. Overall, solid.

A hazy yellow with good head and lacing. Light aroma of citrus and oak with tannic wine smell and some alcohol. Can taste the Chardonnay and oakiness with some sweet citrus and alcohol flavor and warmth. Full mouthfeel with high, crisp carbonation. Flavors do not meld perfectly but has a unique taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2013 bomber to snifter. Pours a hazy light yellow. Aroma is citrus and a slightly sweet acidic smell. A little oakiness. Taste is a sweet citrus with a little Chardonnay. Alcohol and yeast come through with a little bitter. Medium mouthfeel with good carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light golden orange color. Finger of white head. Sweet citrus smell, with some notes of wine. Has a dry wine taste with a lot of carbonation. Some sweet citrus with a alcohol finish. Some yeastiness in the after. Overall not a great balance of flavors. The wine barrel character doesn't fit with this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
