Melange a Trois begins with a wonderfully big Strong Belgian-Style Blonde Ale and moves into the extraordinary category through an additional 6 month French Oak Chardonnay Wine Barrel maturation. The essence of Chardonnay permeates while a subtle sweetness remains from the Ale itself. Oak tannins combine to create a fascinating mesh of dry, sweet, and wine-like character. One of our favorites!

Poured from a 75cl into a brandy snifter, just to be fancy.... Pours a beautiful golden with a tad bit of white head that never goes away. Aroma is nothing short of magnificent. Lite and saucy, funky, sour, tangy, flower and fantastic. One of the best aromas Iíve ever smelt on a beer. Mouthfeel is rather thick (itís a 10% beer after all). Slightly tangy as well. The carbonation is just enough to bring it together without making it fizzy. Taste rather sweet. Iím polishing off a bottle myself and towards the end itís getting cloyingly so. That being said, the flavors are really great. Champagne, grapes, mango, pineapple, funk, mild booze, lolly pop, chalk, white wine all meld together. This was a really top notch beer. I would like to have seen it about 7-8% abv to get rid of the sweetness, but thatís just my .02. Even for the price, Iíll be buying this again.

Pours hazy gold into a tulip. Bright white head with medium retention recedes leaving sticky lacing to coat surface. Sweet caramel and oak aromas. Sweet, dry caramel and grape front to back turning to a slightly bitter and lasting oak finish.

750. I think my review was erased with the alias was put in. Nice and dry Belgian ale with fantastic yeast tones.

Wow! A delicious and flavorful beer. This beer packs a huge punch of flavor to the point to where it almost goes overboard. Aroma was big and full. Heavy Belgian yeast with apple and pear weaving in and out. Pour was a nice cloudy light to medium gold with a one finger white head. Taste was HUGE and extremely complex. Honey and lemon; very vinous in the front. Strong and sweet. Then the huge oak and wine flavors take over. Vanilla, Chardonnay and more lemon wash over the mouth. Sweet/bitter aftertaste. As good as the flavor is, it begins to become too overwhelming; as good as it is. Lovely beer.

Bottle from Belmont Station. Pours cloudy blonde with a massive white head and a fruit and toffee aroma. There is a saison-like carbonated malt flavor that is a bit fruity, but dry and winey at the finish.

Pours clear golden / yellow with a white head. The aroma has cream, spices, vanilla, oak and pepper. Medium rich body thatís crisp on the finish and has soft carbonation. The flavor starts with very fruity chardonnay flavors, grapes, peach, vanilla and spice. The finish has lots of smooth fruit, some alcohol and linger oak. Quite nice.

Aroma has nice sweet malts mixed with white wine and oak. Taste is oak and wine notes with more oak over a dry but candy-sugar flavoured base. Great beer, tons of oak.

Capped 750 from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours hazy orange gold with small floaters and a thick creamy off-white head. Aroma is yeasty bready with citrus and mixed light fruit. Deep inhalation suggests some vinosity. Full bodied. Flavor is vinous and oaky. Thereís a mixture of light fruits, but itís mostly vinous, and finishes astringently oaky. That must have been some chardonnay in those barrels. Excellent ale.

This is compliments of Paulo from the Archives, gracias. Poured with a nice, off white, fine, foamy, thick, frothy, off white head that lasts and plenty of lace. Color is a slightly hazy, burnished yellow amber. Aroma is a fragrant mix of yeast, fruit, hop, malt, bread dough. Flavor is much like nose with carbonic tang; yeast and carbonic tang standing out. Body is just as it should be, ditto carbonation.
