COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Previously known as Chardonnay Blonde. Our first beer in the Reserve Series, Melange A Trois begins with a wonderfully big Strong Belgian-Style Blonde Ale and moves into the extraordinary category through an additional 6 month French Oak Chardonnay Wine Barrel maturation. The essence of Chardonnay permeates while a subtle sweetness remains from the Ale itself. Oak tannins combine to create a fascinating mesh of dry, sweet, and wine-like character. One of our favorites!

A hazy yellow with good head and lacing. Light aroma of citrus and oak with tannic wine smell and some alcohol. Can taste the Chardonnay and oakiness with some sweet citrus and alcohol flavor and warmth. Full mouthfeel with high, crisp carbonation. Flavors do not meld perfectly but has a unique taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2013 bomber to snifter. Pours a hazy light yellow. Aroma is citrus and a slightly sweet acidic smell. A little oakiness. Taste is a sweet citrus with a little Chardonnay. Alcohol and yeast come through with a little bitter. Medium mouthfeel with good carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light golden orange color. Finger of white head. Sweet citrus smell, with some notes of wine. Has a dry wine taste with a lot of carbonation. Some sweet citrus with a alcohol finish. Some yeastiness in the after. Overall not a great balance of flavors. The wine barrel character doesn't fit with this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ Steve’s Foco, picked up at the brewery. Pours a hazy, orangish golden appearance with a white head. Light Chardonnay, somewhat oaky, floral, stone fruit, apricot aroma. Slightly tart, mild barnyard, apricot, peach, light vanilla flavor with a dry, fruity finish. Solid.

Bottle from City Swiggers, UES. Pour is cloudy gold, moderate and lasting white head with a fair amount of lacing. Aroma is of chardonnay, oak, yeast, lemon peel. Taste is vinous with a definite chardonnay character, yeast, lemon, and oak. Def some light spice maybe peppercorn or clove. Medium body with a light sour oak finish. Overall a great mouthfeel and nice age. Probably could use another year to mellow.

Pours a hazy pale yellow with a medium white head. Aroma is subtley spicy...sage and anise with some tropical fruits. Flavor is more yeasty/spicy...still fruity...notes of oak and white wine. Mouthfeel is full and silky with a fruity/winey dry oaky finish.

Hazy gold beer, good white head. Light very dry palate. Sweet sugary fruit salad sweets. But it’s hard to swallow as the beer is so chalky dry. Finishes frothy and very dry with obvious alcohol. A bit of a mess.

Draft. Golden hazy pour with white foamy head. Nice Chardonnay oak and light tart aromas. Flavor doesn’t exactly match, woody with some light vinous tones.
