COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wick for Brains is our classic and painstakingly produced Fall Pumpkin Ale. Instead of simply using spice, we use real pumpkin which lends a sweetness and pumpkin flavor not found in many Pumpkin Ales. Wonderful pumpkin pie spice intertwined in an Amber Ale creates a pumpkin sensation which is elegantly crafted. Notes of Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Clove, Ginger and Allspice blend perfectly in this seasonal Ale. There are many Pumpkin Ales out there crafted by some wonderful breweries – we feel that ours stands among them and in some cases – stands apart.

Pours a lightly hazy golden with a medium white creamy head. Aroma of a nice mix of pumpkin pie spices and pie crust. Flavor of the same. Not a whole lot to say about a straight forward pumpkin ale like this..except that it was well done.

On tap at the brewpub. Comes a clear pale amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, pumpkin, and pumpkin pie spices. Taste is the same. Decent pumpkin ale.

Growler poured a clear golden amber with a small lingering ivory head. Aromas of carmel, spice and light fruittiness. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, cinnamon, allspice and light fruittiness with a crisp dry lingering spiced finish.

On draft last night @ Blind Tiger for the pumpkin fest with James, Andy, Streets, Annie, Visco, Brazilians. Dark orange pour into shaker. Unremarkable aroma. Taste was not too much pumpkin; tasted more like an amber ale with some hints of pumpkin spice and some bland hop bitterness. Pretty OK.

On tap at gilhouys. Seemed like a fall seasonal. Little flat but to me the pumpkin and spice also read.as melon, with a good yeast tropical fruit that brought it all together. Good beer.

Draught on at a brewery event. Disclosure this is one of my least favorite beer styles...but why? It looks like unfiltered apple juice. Smells of malt, nutmeg, and a little cinnamon all ill defined. Same for the flavors. Sweet and spicy vague pumpkin. A flat greasy texture is quite un appealing as is the beer in general.

Strong aroma of pumpkin flavoring, nutmeg, cinnamon, small disappearing less than ½ inch head. Very sweet, taste of spices, full bodied, grassy taste. Dry finish, decent CO2. Overall, not bad, nothing worth trying again though.

Nice pumpkin/cinnamon nose. Not much head. Solid pumpkin and cinnamon taste, fades quickly. Nice slightly chewy mouthfeel. Very good.

Sampled on draft at D’s in Monroeville this beer poured a bright orange-amber color with a medium sized foamy beige head that faded quickly. The aroma was strong nutmeg and clove and light cinnamon without much else going on. The flavor was sweetish sour caramel with bitter lemon, nutmeg and cinnamon. There was a bit of an off flavor I could not identify that did not work for me. The finish was dryish and spicy. Moderately full bodied. Eh.
