Wick for Brains is our classic and painstakingly produced Fall Pumpkin Ale. Instead of simply using spice, we use real pumpkin which lends a sweetness and pumpkin flavor not found in many Pumpkin Ales. Wonderful pumpkin pie spice intertwined in an Amber Ale creates a pumpkin sensation which is elegantly crafted. Notes of Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Clove, Ginger and Allspice blend perfectly in this seasonal Ale. There are many Pumpkin Ales out there crafted by some wonderful breweries – we feel that ours stands among them and in some cases – stands apart.

Location: Can from Sparrow- Downtown, 8/21/15

Aroma: The aroma is pumpkin spice, some lightly dry notes, bread, malt, and a but of pumpkin
Appearance: This one has a clear darker orange color with a smallish head and fairly heavy lace
Flavor: The flavor is a mix of pumpkin spice and pumpkin, malt, and a bit of earth
Palate: Medium bodied, with a fairly clean feel, soft carbonation, and a lightly dry close
Overall Impression: Far as I’m concerned, this is a solid one. It’s way too early in the year for me to be drinking a pumpkin beer usually, but at the same time, at this point we have no choice. The good ones are gone by October.

12oz can from Xroads. Poured a flatter reddish/amber body with a smaller tight foamy head. Aroma is metallic, copper, toast, grapes and metal. Body is medium with flatter carbonation and a quicker fading aftertaste. Flavor is a touch better than the aroma, toast and grains, pumpkin skin and copper. This beer sucks.

Not sure how this can ended up under my car seat and survived for a few months (including several days of sub-zero weather). Hazed amber liquid with minimal head (perhaps the result of poor storage). Mild toasted malt scents with only a hint of spice. Light spice flavors. Decent, but nothing special. 2/15

Lost review from last fall. Nice spice balance, though the aroma is mostly just pumpkin and cinnamon. Earthier than many pumpkin ales.

Pour on tap at the brewery, slightly hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of big cinnamon, ginger, touch of caramel into a bit of earth, slight biscuit and bready notes as well. Taste was a mix of grain, biscuit, bread into a bit of caramel, some pumpkin notes into more cinnamon, ginger, finishing spicy, sweet.

Kind of a dry & run of the mill pumpkin. Pretty much an average appearance, aroma, & flavor. There isn’t much here that stands out. Pretty disappointing!
