This medium-bodied English-style brown ale is all about the malt. It has a blend of six different malts and a low hop character. Moderate malty sweetness with slight nutty/caramelly flavor and aroma. Smooth, malty and easy to drink! Light beer drinkers often like this beer after they get past the fear of its color.

Malty with a light body. Nothing distinct at all, it is an average beer at best.

(Draught) Pours a lightly hazy amber-brown body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa, and nuts. Flavor of cocoa, caramel malt, roastiness, and nuts.

Roasted nut aromas are obvious. Good head with poor retention. Slightly hazy and light brown in color. Malt flavors dominate. Seemed to have some characteristics of roasted pecans. Light-medium bodied with some hop bitterness on the finish. Lots of nut flavors in this beer. Overall, a good beer with nice flavors. Serving type: on-tap

Draught. Poured amber with a slight read hue and a dirty off white head. Aroma was richly nutty with some light chocolate. Flavor was nutty with light soil notes, and mostly sweet. Medium body.

On tap at the brewpub. This was dark copper with brown at the edges and an off white head. The aroma was toasty with bread and peanuts. The taste was strongly roasted with biscuits and pinto beans. There was an iced tea finish. Drinkable, but boring.

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2009 On draft at the brewpub. Beer pours like a slightly flat cola - similar color and head. Aroma deepens as the beer warms. Lovely smooth nut brown flavor, about the best nut brown flavor ever. Good any time of the year.

On tap at the brewpub on Opening Day. Pours dark amber with reddish tones. Has a thin off white head. Nutty caramel toffee aroma. Thin in body, but not too thin. Really flavorful hazelnut with slight chocolate and mild roastedness. Good residual cocoa flavors.

Rating is ~2-3 weeks old as I waited for the beer to get into the ratebeer system. In all honesty, there was nothing remarkable about this drink...typical brown ale appearance. Roasty flavor with some underlying sweetness. I felt this was somewhat watery on the palate, and that detracted somewhat

Sweet roasted aroma. Amber to deep brown. Roasted hazelnut nut flavor. Full body.
