3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
DATE: October 20, 2016... OCCASION: SGO computed, time to mentally prepare for Friday... GLASSWARE: Kisatsky Tavern pint... pours a dark chestnut brown, almost opaque body... forced before light, some bubbles show through... a single-finger off-white head holds strong to a foamy ring... the aroma is nutty--almonds, pecans--though the mango and grapefruit offer a welcome dimension... the toasted bread malts suggest a moderate sweetness... the body is smooth, effervescent at the throat, and mild at the teeth... sessionable as the label professes... frothy too, suggesting freshness... medium-bodied, but not weighty... the flavor profile is dominated by hazelnut and pecan, toasted oats and bread, while the hops suggest citrus--light mango, orange, lemon--to build a reasonably balanced taste... nothing bad to say about this offering--my first from Nebraska, I believe... a competent, serviceable brown ale that I wouldn’t mind having again...

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can:   Brown pour, moderate light beige head, fairly nice lacing.   Toasted malt nose, nutty, subtle chocolate.   Similar tongue, very smooth and clean.   Coming across as a solid example.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Nutty finish, a little bready, mild sweetness, some chocolate too.   Really nice example!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz can. Pours light ruby brown with a medium fluffy light tan head that retains well and leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is toasted chocolate malts with a little nuttiness.
The flavor is sweet toasted chocolate and caramel malts with some graininess and a bit of a metallic twang. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.
Overall, an OK brown with some off notes.

Can. Brown. Malty nose. Dark sweet bready, dark fruity, almost dubbel- like plummyness, sweet nutty nose. Light med bodied. Easy, bit thin flavoured. Brown malty nutty flavour. Ok, clean and all. Bit thin overall still.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can pour into shaker pint glass from Manchester Wine and Liquors. Appearance is hazy reddish-brown with effervescent sparkle (like a soft drink), finger-width beige head with poor retention and trace lacing. Aroma is nutty caramel/toffee, hint of chocolate (like chocolate almond ice cream). Taste is light caramel malts, late nuttiness. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and dry, fairly bland finish. Overall, the appearance and aroma had my hopes up but the taste is not as interesting as aroma and palate is pretty weak.

12 oz. can. Deep reddish-brown with a thin film of bubbles. Nose is toffee, maple syrup and apple. Tastes of toasted pecan, brown sugar, apple, lactose and a touch of dry cocoa. Light-plus body has too much fizz and an OK balance.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
This looks pretty nice w/ a long-lasting creamy head but that’s its chief highlight. This has a slight bit of roast and some caramel flavor but generally just comes off as sweet and heavy, which isn’t helped by very mild carbonation. It is a bit oily and finishes a bit watery w/ just a hint of bitterness and some lingering sweetness. This isn’t undrinkable but I likely won’t be drinking it again.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap @ Top Hops. This is a near clear mild brown looking one with a tall lasting and quite lacing off-white head. Smells good. It’s mainly dark malty, a little nuts perhaps. It has a mild oily texture in the mouth and it’s just about average on the carbonation. Much the same going on in the taste. Dark malty, a little sweet chocolate wrapper and mild yeast nutty tail. Lightdrinkable, not very memorable to be honest. 18.06.2015

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 Fl. Oz. Wide Mouth Can. Poured clear, reddish brown, big tan head that left nice lacing. Aroma of malts, nuts and hints of fruit. Taste is quite malty, certainly sweet, some nuts and some fruits; quite earthy. Easy to drink, very clean finish... Very good.
