Our version of the classic English-style Nut Brown Ale has a blend of 6 different malts and very little hop bitterness. The malts are nutty and sweeter tilting toward coffee, toffee, and caramel.

12 oz. can. Deep reddish-brown with a thin film of bubbles. Nose is toffee, maple syrup and apple. Tastes of toasted pecan, brown sugar, apple, lactose and a touch of dry cocoa. Light-plus body has too much fizz and an OK balance.

This looks pretty nice w/ a long-lasting creamy head but thatís its chief highlight. This has a slight bit of roast and some caramel flavor but generally just comes off as sweet and heavy, which isnít helped by very mild carbonation. It is a bit oily and finishes a bit watery w/ just a hint of bitterness and some lingering sweetness. This isnít undrinkable but I likely wonít be drinking it again.

On tap @ Top Hops. This is a near clear mild brown looking one with a tall lasting and quite lacing off-white head. Smells good. Itís mainly dark malty, a little nuts perhaps. It has a mild oily texture in the mouth and itís just about average on the carbonation. Much the same going on in the taste. Dark malty, a little sweet chocolate wrapper and mild yeast nutty tail. Lightdrinkable, not very memorable to be honest. 18.06.2015

12 Fl. Oz. Wide Mouth Can. Poured clear, reddish brown, big tan head that left nice lacing. Aroma of malts, nuts and hints of fruit. Taste is quite malty, certainly sweet, some nuts and some fruits; quite earthy. Easy to drink, very clean finish... Very good.

Taste: semi sweet brown sugar notes, nutty, malty, smooth mouth feel, toasted nut sweet nose. Brown, clear, with a smaller tan head and lace. Medium body.

Poured from a can. Dark ruby brown with yeasty aroma. Medium bodied at best, too thin to be a serious brown ale. Roasted malt flavor with sweet finish. Tolerable but unexciting.

Pint at Asbury. Pours brown with a small head. The aroma is immediately nutty with a sweet malty background. The palate is pretty full with appropriate residual sugar. Flavors of brown sugar, almonds and toffee come through. The hop character is not worth mentioning. Itís well put together English brown. If you like this particular style, this is really gonna do it for you. Itís textbook.

Almond in color, minimal head. Lightly roasted nut aroma. Much better on the tongue, deeper nuttiness with some caramel, wood. A sessiony brown.
