A beautiful golden crossbreed of a Belgian Tripel and a West Coast IPA. Combining the best attributes of each style in a remarkable way, this beer explodes with spiciness, tropical fruit, and an intense citrus bitterness that will leave you begging for more! Hopped with Warrior, Chinook, Centential, and Cascade hops.

I went and had a growler filled with Hop God at a local grocery store, with no previous knowledge of the brew, and wow, quite a pleasant surprise I must say. A bountiful citrus and complex hop aroma is noted up front, followed by visualization of a crystal clear amber pour with an expected two finger head. Taste is overtly malty and sweet with a smooth hop finish, noting bold notes of tempered red fruit, typical of Belgian yeasts yet perfectly complementing the grain bill which I assume included the infamous Special B malt. Palate is thick and reminiscent of an imperial stout, which is always a plus with a crystal clear IPA like this (in my book). Pleasantly surprising. Overall, worth the price and I will definitely buy more. This may even out compete Surly Furious in my book.

UPDATED: APR 27, 2011 Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joe’s this beer poured a dark caramel-amber color with a large creamy yellow-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was very strong sweet fruit cocktail. The flavor was very strong sweet fruit cocktail, sherbert and alcohol. The beer turned a bit dry towards the long finish that had lingering fruit cocktail and table sugar. Thick and full bodied. Boozy, but somehow it worked with this one. Marvelous!

This is an amazing beer. Hop God is a very appropriate name since it is worthy of the gods. This is a beer from the brewery that is less than 3 years old. The beer they are producing is fantastic. Smells of Pine forest, Citrus fruits, earth, Yeast and some banana and a bit o spice. Pours a very deep but bright gold with a great white thick head that last the whole time you drink your beer. Which is not long because it is so good. Almost full body with ample carbonation and a very crisp but smooth finish. Flavor is wonderful. One of the best IPA and the best Belgium style IPA I have ever had. Just full of hoppy goodness. Pne, Citrus, Spice, some sweetness but a great hop punch at the front and the end.. Amazingly Balanced and wickedly delicious that hides the 9.2% well...I will drink this again very soon.

Rich gold pour with a perfect white head. Man this beer kicked ass. Its so deliciously hoppy and fruit at the same time. The citrus hops and perfect herbal hoppiness give way to an insane amout of juicy fruits and perfect malt balance. I was blown away by this. This brewery is fun! I need to visit.

Wow excellent beer and pretty much the way they describe it. Poured with a medium sized of white head and some a little lace. Color is a clear deep yellow amber with some slow bubble trails. Aroma is malt, hop, yeast, fruit. Flavor is like nose and much more intense in all regards. Great balance between the 3 main flavors of sweet bitter and sour. The body is good and so is carbonation. Finish is like flavor and tapers to hop and yeast bitterness. No sign of the alcohol.

At FWIBF. Pour is dark yellow gold and clear. Aroma is more on the Belgian side with sweetness, fruitiness and a little hop character, taste has some spice, fruit with some good citrus taste. A tasty blend of Belgian and IPA. I am a big fan of this beer.

Very thick, rich head, almost like it had nitrogen rather than carbonation. The head settles slowly, leaving a dense dome in the center of the glass. Chunky but spotty lace on the glass. Cloudy liquid with a dirty gold color. Complex aromas of creamy (lactose?) pale malts. Some Belgian yeast nose. Peppery hop, too. Starts with a rich barley flavor. Holding the liquid in my mouth, a subtle carbonation shows up preventing the beer from getting coy. Just prior to the swallow, the alcohol is notable, oily and warming. The swallow and aftertaste is all hop and alcohol. The hop portion is bittering without any strong spiciness. In a word: Complex.

Absolutely splendid. Combines the best attributes of both styles. Think an exceptional IPA with Belgian yeast. This is that.

Stunning and wonderful. Solid triple, perhaps a little more sweet and less carbonated than the standard. But done perfectly well. The barrel aging adds a complexity. This is a very very good beer.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2009 On tap at the 2009 Crescent Moon Extreme Beer festival. Pours a cloudy dishwater gold with a big white head. Amazing aroma of pepper. Very belgian in flavor with lots of oranges, coriander, and grapefruit. Super fruity. UPDATE: In the bomber bottle at the 2009 Crescent Moon Summer Beer Festival. Pours tallow gold with a thick white head. This is a crazy beer. It has too much of everything. It tastes like pineapple juice. Totally chaotic brew. I really approve.

Draft at KCBM Homebrew Competition 2011. Highly appealing aroma of green, leafy hops, citrus, yeast esters, hop florals, grapefruit, pine, honeyish malt sweetness and strong spiciness. Hazy medium orange-amber color with a lasting, foamy head. Flavor is an excellent meeting point between Belgian Strong and Double IPA, with strongly spicy, clovey, bubblegum-like yeast aspects, sweet, pale malts and West Coast-style hops, featuring a nice blend of fruity, fresh, piney hop flavors and generous bitterness throughout. Hefty, resinous and effervescent on the palate, body is quite full. This was incredibly tasty.
