Thanks to boamr for this one in trade. Sampled at IBrew2or3’s going away party. Pours a caramel/ amber color with a white head. Nose is caramel, toffee, whiskey, vanilla, cherries, wood, brown sugar, and nice aromatic sweetness. Flavor is sweetness with bits of oak, caramel and toffee, vanilla, cherry, cherry pits, and a lovely balance. Medium-bodied and very enjoyable.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pushes a little too hard on the whiskey pedal. Really, really sweet and tough to drink in any quantity, has some decent flavor but lackluster in comparison to some of the other beers sampled yesterday.

Thanks again Markwise. I don’t think the whiskey did this one justice, that being said, still well worth putting in my mouth.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle. Pours a mostly clear deep amber with a reddish hue, small off white head left some decent lacing. Nose held faint herbal hops, caramel malts, some dry barrel character. Light wood tannins on the palate, pretty tasty and not overly heavy.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Poured a light copper color ale with a small foamy head with limited retention and limited lacing. Aroma of clear whiskey notes with light warming alcohol and sweet malt notes. Taste is a bit too sweet for my taste with some warming alcohol notes and rounded edge from the barrel-aging. Body is about average with OK carbonation and light alcohol notes. Limited complexity with too much sweetness and good barrel–aging notes.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750mL. First Nebraska rate! The pour is a clear, deep amber with loads and loads of particulate. Small, tan lace. Aroma is buttery bourbon, vanilla, rich toffee and caramel. Taste is sweet, dark cherry, spicy alcohol/boozy, nice bourbon/coconut, gets a little sickly sweet. Palate is thinner, watery. Reminds me of bourbon on the rocks.

Bottle: The aroma consists of whiskey with a touch of vanilla and some heat. It pours a orangish-brown with a thin off-white ring for a head. The flavor starts with caramel and vanilla. The finish ia all whiskey and is a tad hot. Medium-full bodied with mild carbonation and a soft mouyhfeel. Never had the base beer, but hints of caramel are all I can assume remains from the original beer.
