COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Melange a Trois begins with a wonderfully big Strong Belgian-Style Blonde Ale and moves into the extraordinary category through an additional 6 month French Oak Chardonnay Wine Barrel maturation. The essence of Chardonnay permeates while a subtle sweetness remains from the Ale itself. Oak tannins combine to create a fascinating mesh of dry, sweet, and wine-like character. One of our favorites!

Light dried hay pour with a small ivory foam that left the glass quickly. Some tart citrus, breadiness, oak, raw cane sugar, and candied oranges. Definite winey notes. Meh.

Pours a hazy apricot with a nice eggshell head. Malty aroma has a strong note of sour fruit and a hint of yeast. Flavor has a malty core that supports notes of hops and sour fruit plus a hint of yeast. Firm, fizzy texture leaves a tingly and somewhat sour finish.

750 bottle @ $19.99. Golden ale pour with not much lacing and a small head. Cotton candy nose followed with some tart green apple. Taste starts with a mild sweetness, immediately followed by dry white wine flavors. A astringent finish. Very tasty!

Just a really nice beer all the way around. Start with a perfect amount of Belgian yeast flavor (and note the color being surprisingly straw pale yellow in color). Add the perfect amount of barrel aging flavor, with hints of white wine as well -- and this is hard to do. No alcohol heat. Just goodness.

750 shared amongst guest. poured an orangish color with white head. aroma straight up was the chardonnay cask and some oakiness. simple style belgain with the yeast and esters coming through. the flavor was remarkably good. nice belgian touch slightly sweet but then finishes quite dry with the chardonnay and oak. on the end you do get alot of booze in the nose and flavor.

750 mL bottle from Nikki’s, Providence, opened 12/12/13. Pours a hazy orange color with a medium sized dense creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of pale buttery malts, citrus, stone fruits, spice, perfume notes, dry white grapes and mild wood. The taste is dry citrus, peach, white wine, some doughy notes, wood, mild zest and marzipan. Medium bodied, slight booze. Solid.

Sampled on draft at Zeno’s this beer poured a bright golden color with a small soapy white head that faded quickly but left good lacing. The aroma was boozy with note s of table sugar, apricot, honey and bread. The flavor was boozy apricot, pear, table sugar, bread and chardonnay. Medium length apricot, pear, table sugar and chardonnay finish. Moderately full bodied though undercarbonated. Interesting.

Great beer! Beautiful golden color with a nice head of light effervescent bubbles. Wonderful wood flavor from the barrel while not overpowering the flavor of the base golden ale. White wine dances on the tounge with lemon. Definitely need to get another bottle of this soon.

750 ml bottle
This has been hanging around in the cellar for too long so when I finally got a chance to split it with b3shine and tastybeer I was more than happy to do so. Nebraska Brewing has not been disappointing in the past and this was no exception. A world class barrel aged release should be picked up the next time it hits shelves.

Aroma / Appearance - A golden base is glowing with warmth. The stark white head gives it a light look for a 10% ABV Belgian. White fresh Chardonnay, malt, citrus glaze, and lemon cheesecake fill the air with a dessert course.

Flavor / Palate - A chewy boozy mouthfeel is thick with texture. The warmth of white wine slides across the tongue. More like a high quality wine than a Belgian ale it is very drinkable from start to finish. I wish I had another bottle or could get one easily.

On tap at Misconduct Tavern in Philly. Pours a hazy light mahogany with a tall but quickly dissipating cream khaki head. Velvety lacing. Aromas of candy apple, caramel, lemon zest and toasted malt. The oak barrel finish is apparent right away with a rich but dry vanilla punch followed by ripe summer fruits, molasses, bittersweet chocolate, white pepper, and marshmallow. Full, silky mouthfeel and a very long, sweet yet mildly astringent finish. My first from Nebraska Brewing. I didn’t love it but still look forward to some more from them.
