This was from out my way in California and was sampled at an ESBLS tasting new St. Louis Pours jet black with a tan head. Nose is dark roasted malts and some smoke. Full body and smooth carbonated mouth feel. Velvet on the tongue The flavor is very rich and full of chocolate and the smoke appears in the finish as well along with some coffee. A super easy drinking and delicious beer. Loved this one.

22 fl oz / 650mL bottle into a tulip glass. Served cool.
Aroma: Reminds me of breakfast. Some nice chocolate, drip coffee, dark cereals... There’s a lot going on. The drip coffee / malt is what I most picked up on.
Appearance: Completely opaque dark brown with a dark tan head. Nice lacing.
Taste: Is this an iced mocha that I have in my glass? Wow! Coffee, chocolate, nuts, toffee, nice bittersweet-ness, roasted malts, a couple of flavors I can’t put my finger on... Fantastic. Truly fantastic.
Palate: Rich and full-bodied. Creamy and velvety smooth, but with definite presence and weight.
Overall: One of my co-workers told me this is the best stout he’s had in his entire life, so I thought I’d try it. The aroma and appearance had me thinking that this would be good, and maybe even better than most stouts, but it was hard to believe it would be the best stout ever. The taste blew me away. There is so much going on that it’s hard to pick up everything. This is one of those beers I could drink over and over and find something new each time. Phenomenal work, Nectar Ales. Phenomenal.

Bomber to snifter (shared with the Mrs.; thanks jtclockwork. Looks good; an opaque black with foamy beige head that dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes good too; dark malt and chocolate with notes of bourbon and wine barrels. A sweet but not cloying imperial stout. Nice and smooth on the palate. Good beer!

Really dark and strong. Lots of coffee. A beer you have to just sip on but it's really dark and tasty.

Backlog rate. Bottle with some bros. Pours viscous black, pretty much oil. Lacing and head were nothing. Notes are heavy coffee roast, chocolate, wood, and hops. As it warmed some vanilla came out. Smooth drinking stout if you ask me.

Bottle 650ml. Pours a beautiful BLACK just as in the name. Very light, tan head. Almost no lace. American pint glass. Aroma is deep with roasted malt, cocoa, chocolate, coconut, bourbon and coffee. The taste is quite good with tobacco, roasted malts. chocolate, coconut, and the aftertaste of bourbon. Although it is 11% is doesn’t taste like it however. The mouth feel is thick, but very smooth with a wonderful aftertaste. Nice work!
