bomber Thanks to Owen for the massive want. Pours dark cola and settles black. One finger light brown fast fading head that settles to a nice collar. Bits of spotty lacing. Chocolate, coffee, marshmallow, oak and soft bourbon notes in the nose. Good mixture by the softness of the oak and bourbon that has had a bit of time to mellow out a bit. Dry chocolate, coco powder, coffee, oak, bourbon, and bits of char and tobacco in the taste. Quite dry with some faint vanilla sweetness. Dry, bitter chocolate, coffee, and bitter coco. Low carbonation, oily and dense but a lighter than the nose or taste leads onto. Solid stuff.

Bottle. An old vintage brew but unsure of the date. A black color with a laced brown head. A smooth aroma and flavor with sweet chocolate and bourbon notes. The aging has mellowed this beer quite a bit but it still has a nice coffee, chocolate and bourbon pop.

1/25/2013. Pours black with a thin, brown head. Aroma is incredible; so much coffe, cappuccino, espresso, vanilla. Taste caught me slightly off-guard. Highly acidic, black coffee, burnt coffee beans, roast, bourbon. Medium carbonation. Aggressive, full-bodied mouth feel. This stout is incredibly aggressive; it stings a bit on the tongue. The barrel aging really helps to calm this beer down, if even just a bit. But I enjoyed this and could drink it often.

Deep brown in color with an off-white head. Light bourbon aroma over a malty aroma. A boozey-maltiness and roastiness, like a big brown with a booze edge.

tulip. dark brown tall head that dies quick, with really black body. Smell is roasted malt, molasses, and signs of vanilla. Taste is heavy roasted coffee beans, and a heavy mixed dose of chocolate and vanilla. Heavy and solid texture leading to a dry chocolate finish.

Dark brown, almost opaque with good head and decent lacing. Booziness and chocolate in aroma with slight coffee. Big chocolate taste with slight booze and cocoa in finish with little coffee. Sweet but not too much. Moderate-full mouthfeel and somewhat sticky. Not bad. Would be good with chocolate. Might buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark brown to block with some light coming through. Light tan head. Strong smell of choclate with alcohol on top. Taste is really choclately with some bittersweetness and booze. Mouthfeel is slick and syrupy. Don't like very much. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown/black color; Medium to heavy slightly creamy body; Aroma of toasted sweet malt, vanilla, dark chocolate, and some licorice; Flavor of roasted sweet malt, coffee, caramel, dark chocolate, licorice, and some bourbon; Warm finish; Nicely balanced; Overall, quite sweet - but tasty.
