4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 AZBennett (74) - Chandler, Arizona, USA - MAY 18, 2013
2011 vintage. Pours black and viscous with a tiny tan head that is gone in an eye blink. Aromas are cocoa, coffee, barrel, vanilla and licorice. Flavors are lovely coffee infused chocolate and vanilla tinged stout with a hint of wood, dash of smoke and a lingering raisin and licorice flavor. Palate is just a tad bit light, but develops nicely as this warms and ends up spot on. Overall, this is super solid and would satiate my Parabola fix when that lovely beer is not around.

Deep, rich chocolate and coffee notes. Black as the witch's heart. Definitely a proper session beer. Not too much bitterness, so has a good amount if drink ability for its style.

Full body and smooth carbonated mouth feel. Velvet on the tongue The flavor is very rich and full of chocolate and the smoke appears in the finish as well along with some coffee.
