3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: AUG 31, 2007 Another pick up from Firestone Bar. A simple, good drinking beer. Nothing special just a nice easily put drank brew. The smell was a bit weak. The best thing about this ale was the drinkability. The weakest thing was prob. the smell and look, very simple on both parts. I could easily put back a bunch of these.

Better then I thought it would be, smooth hoppy ale, goes well with alfredo sauce. Great for that burn out college kid you know, although I tasted no hemp.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Pours an amber color with average head and lacing. The nose is lightly hoppy and a bit fruity with some pale malts, but Iím not getting much in the hemp department. Maybe a bit of spice. The flavor is herbal and sweet, rich caramel malts and bright hops, but no real hemp anything. Woo, letís call it hemp ale to sell more. Why not just Pale ale? Oh, they already have one of those.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz bottle. Poured a red-brown color with a nice light tan head. Good nose of spices and a fairly heavy mouthfeel. Flavors of malt carmel and chocolate, with an overlay of fruit. No sign of hemp. But that doesnít detract from the brew, which is quite enjoyable.

Smells like malt, and actually has abit of smokiness to it. :) No flavor that lasts too long, but overall a decent brew.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This was pretty smooth for a hoppy ale. Nicely modeled and a real good structure. No jagged flavors. Nice color with a hint of spice in the aftertaste. A nice winter ale. Not real refreshing. Recommended.

Nothing really special about this beer, I only wanted to try it because it had hemp seed in it heh, even though I didnt taste any hint of it.....it wasnít too bad, a little bitter malty taste to it, pretty smooth drinking, wouldnít mind drinking this again though.

(12 oz bottle: Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido, CA) Darker in color and "darker" in flavor than I remember, Iím pleasantly surprised at how nice this beer is, and by how much it reminds me of a brown ale. Amber-brown in color and slightly hazy, itís capped by a small, light-tan head that fades to a ring a bit too quickly. Aromas of dry, toasted caramel and a bit of chocolate, this has the clean, dry nose of a lager. Matching flavors of toast, caramel and bakerís chocolate, plus it has a pretty dry the finish, so the palate a fairly clean for what it is. Totally not what I was expecting here, which is good since I wasnít expecting much of anything. Flavorful, pleasant, easy drinking, and no, I canít taste the hemp seeds, a claim I heard a few times when I presented this beer at a recent beer tasting at BevMo.

Bottled. Pours a rich garnet color with an ivory head. Caramel, chocolate, malt, and some licorice aromas. Rather thick mouth feel. Dry, dusty malt character with a slight hop bitterness. More chocolate and some fruit notes as well.
