3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled. Pours a dark brown color. Aroma is somewhat malty with a bit of chocolate. A hint of hops as well. Flavor is slightly malty with some chocolate notes. Slightly roasted. A little bit of spice. Not bad, but lacking a little something. Reminds me a little of a brown ale.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: SEP 23, 2008 This is one of the best beer’s I’ve ever had. IT keeps things simple, but the hemp flavor in the hopping process rounds out the flavor, and evens out any sharp edges that pop up in dark ales.
ON SECOND ANALYSIS: It’s not bad. It’s just not as great as I thought before. The hemp does give it a nice, non-hoppy bitter edge, which improves complexity. But other than that, not much else stands out on this beer.
