Our IPA is created from a base of Pale and Crystal malts and is aggressively hopped throughout the brewing process with a final hop addition in the conditioning vessel. A beautiful flowery hop aroma will greet you as you dive into this hop lover’s dream. A middle caramel malt presence balances high hop bitterness with hop flavor end to end... learn to love hops! (Editor’s Note: originally brewed by Humboldt Brewing Company under the name "Humboldt IPA Nectar" until their acquisition by Firestone Walker.)

Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – The beer is served a nice golden amber color with a one finger head of billowy white foam. The head of the brew has a god level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a nice level of streaky lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the brew is a great mix of tropical fruit smells of tangerine, pineapple and mango, mixed with a decently strong grapefruit and pine citrus smell. Along with these aromas comes some other lighter bready and caramel smells as well as a little bit of a Taste – The taste begins with a nice blend of the tropical fruits, caramel and grapefruit hops that were detected in the nose. While only a little bit of a breadiness is present upfront, as the taste advances it gets stronger at the expense of the caramel. While the sweet of the caramel fades however a bit more fruit takes its place, maintaining the overall sweetness of the beer. The grapefruit grows quite a bit stronger all while some pine and earthy hop flavors join the profile as well. The pine end up surging at the end, ad with the mix of bready and fruity tastes, ends up leaving a rather fruity and pleasantly hopped flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the slightly chewier side for an IPA of only 6.5 % with a carbonation level that is a bit on the higher side. For the style the chewiness was fantastic but a tad lower carbonation may have been slightly more appropriate. Overall however the feel was still pretty nice. Overall – A superb tasting and smelling IPA. This is one I wish they would bottle. Try it if you get a chance.

Great sweet honey like malty aroma. The hops are muted in the scent. I am also getting some flowery undertones. Good looking, a bit dark for an IPA with a huge white head. Tastes like it smells. Hops are not too strong or bitter with just the right amount of sweetness for balance. Overall very enjoyable, I would definitely drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Liquor Collection Honolulu 271214. Seriously good looking beer with a golden orange colour. Citrus and Passionfruit in the aroma with a big thick creamy mouthfeel.

bottle. Very balanced and smooth IPA. Add it to the "all around" IPAs that I could drink every day

From a bottle...Light malt on the aroma. Pours a decent head with good lacing. Taste is pine and a little lemon. Palate is watery but decently smooth. A really good and unique IPA ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It’s okay. Not much on the aroma except some weird sweetness. That’s all I’m able to get. Taste is about the same. Not much but some weird syrupy sweetness. I’m kind of confused who makes this beer now. I’ve seen it a lot in stores and figured I’d give it a try but it’s not really what I was expecting.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Lagunitas mason jar From: Albertson’s in Alpine, Calif. Price: $1.67 ($9.99 for a mix 6-pack) Purchased: Sept. 30, 2014 Consumed: Oct. 1, 2014 Misc.: N/A Poured a caramel, orange, clear color with 3-to-4 fingers of khaki white head. Tons of good looking streams of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Good amount of layered foamy lacing on the sides of the glass all the way down. Great retention on the top all the way down as well. (Sight - 4.06) Smelled a pleasant whiff of hops right away. Got floral hops, Citra hops, caramel, toffee, pine, good deal of bitterness, Cascade hops and some even some roasty smokiness. Very nice on the nose. (Smell - 4.21) Tasted toffee, caramel, roasty malts, buttery notes, floral hops, Citra hops, orange rind and rye hops. Almost seems more like a strong ale than an IPA. (Taste - 3.79) Medium body. Oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, slightly bitter finish. (Feel - 3.81) This was a very nice IPA. Big fan here. I’d have it again for sure. (Overall - 3.88) 3.91 88 B+

UPDATED: APR 1, 2015 "a little better balance than the pale (more malt), but the hops are stronger too...and just a touch too bitter. overall, an aromatic, but just ok, effort. 7/11 a little better and more balanced than remembered. 11/11 perfumey super strong aroma" FIRESTONE HAMMERSMITH is aliased to this. No damn way. Hammersmith was in a whole nother league.

Draft. Mellow Mushroom Conyers. Pours a mostly clear golden with decent white head. Bigger malt presence than I prefer, but with some nice citrus burst. Well made, but nothing separates it from the crowd. Medium bitterness.

Light malty on the aroma. Some honey citrus note. Looks fine. Little head. Golden color. Taste is pine. Dandellion. A little lemon. Palate is watery but decently smooth. But hops linger a bit long. Overall an ok beer.
