COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our IPA is created from a base of Pale and Crystal malts and is aggressively hopped throughout the brewing process with a final hop addition in the conditioning vessel. A beautiful flowery hop aroma will greet you as you dive into this hop lover’s dream. A middle caramel malt presence balances high hop bitterness with hop flavor end to end... learn to love hops! (Editor’s Note: originally brewed by Humboldt Brewing Company under the name "Humboldt IPA Nectar" until their acquisition by Firestone Walker.)

Nice but fairly typical West Coast IPA. Nice hop aroma, but perhaps a bad bottle that had sat too long on the shelf...seemed like the caramel malt had gone off a little. Nice but forgettable.

Bottle. Nice aroma, great balance. Smooth finish. Great IPA that leans toward the refreshing side vs. the hop bomb.

Appearance holds a golden amber color supporting a fair head that dissipates leaving fair lace. Smell has a very nice sweet malt aroma balanced by the grapefruit bitter of the hops. Taste again has the sweetness of the malt with the grapefruit piney bitter of the hops. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. A sweet tasty IPA.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2014 Pours dark amber with light sticky head. Smells of sweet floral hops, resin, citrus and mango. Tastes of sweet hops and caramel bitters to a resin and grapefruit after taste. Pretty one sided and not as hoppy as I prefer. Easy to drink tho and goes down smooth. Medium body lightly carbonated.

The color is a clear dark orange with a large white head, and the aroma blends honey, caramel malts, and floral hops. The taste is mildly bitter and slightly sweet, and the palate fuses a thick texture, medium body, subtle finish, and a soft carbonation.

This was a pleasant suprise. I had, for no apparent reason, prepared myself for disappointment. Nice, hoppy IPA with a reasonably smooth finish. Watch the 6-second review here: http://teamchug.com/?p=501

Bottle. Taste is summer citrus, pine, hay and yeast, with a mild bitterness. Smooth and enjoyable.

Had on draft at the brewery. Citrusy, caramel, pine, bready, overall a solid, standard IPA.

Advent beer #20: 12oz bottle - Nose is citrus, paint thinner and leather. There are some hops in here I don’t like. would be nice to know which one so that I may avoid it in the future. an adumbration of unripe grapefruit. Dusty aftertaste.tickles the tongue. Tiny malty backbone.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 6/4/2013. Pours hazy deep orange amber color with a 1-2 finger dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, orange zest, tangerine, lemon zest, pine, floral, grass, caramel, bread, toast, and floral earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate malt balance; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, orange zest, lemon zest, floral, grass, pine, caramel, toast, bread, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, orange/lemon zest, floral, grass, pine, caramel, toast, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity of citrus hop flavors and moderate malt balance; with a moderately crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy, crisp, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall, despite the age of the bottle, this was a very nice IPA. Nice complexity of hop flavors with moderate malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
