COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our IPA is created from a base of Pale and Crystal malts and is aggressively hopped throughout the brewing process with a final hop addition in the conditioning vessel. A beautiful flowery hop aroma will greet you as you dive into this hop lover’s dream. A middle caramel malt presence balances high hop bitterness with hop flavor end to end... learn to love hops! (Editor’s Note: originally brewed by Humboldt Brewing Company under the name "Humboldt IPA Nectar" until their acquisition by Firestone Walker.)

Pours a dark amber with light off-white head. decent lacing. Aromas of dough and light hops. Sweet on the first sip with a lignering aftertaste. Citrus and floral flavors come through on the first sip. Not overly hopped and not overly bitter.

Good dark amber color, small off white head that had a decent hang time and left a good lace behind. The aroma was light malt with a decent hop presence and good citrus and pine presence as well with maybe a slight spicy tone to it.The taste was Much better then i was expecting, nice light malt with a medium strength hop presence with a good amount of citrus and light pine hints. Not being a big hop head this brew fits right in to what i'm looking for in an IPA.Flavorful without being overpowering and still having all the flavors that make it an IPA without the overkill on the hops.Very much worth trying and highly drinkable IMO.

11/12/03. Poured out of 12 oz. bottle, enjoyed in a tasting at Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, CA 11/12/03. Strangely, no head on this beer. Very disappointing with an otherwise great apperance in luminescent amber color and medium-syrupy texture. Nose is straightforwardly hopped-- plain and fresh, very refreshing, with some sweet malts to round it out. Taste is plainly hoppy again, with mild malt and not very long-lasting at all. Things are very simple and direct with this beer, but it unfortunately wears thin too quickly. Finish is quick and easy, again straightforward and a little too thin. Not a bad beer, because it does what it does quite well, but it's just not enough to make it a great one.

UPDATED: MAY 23, 2011 Bright hazy orange with a thin head. Citrus nose with bready malts, full mouthfeel, bitter ending. Clean tasting beer, not as hoppy as some, but still nice.

Draft. Deep ruby color, very little head. Aroma of biscuity malts, some oranges. Sort of a subdued start, with a jolt of hops at the finish, mostly grapefruit, but some oranges and earth mixed in. Not bad, but didn't rock my world.

My initial thought was that this was a very crisp, well balanced IPA. There really aren't any rough edges on this one. Very dry finish with enough hops overall to warrant an IPA label. But just enough.

Had this on draft at the Capital Ale House in Richmond, VA on 9-6-03. WOW! Beautiful copper color with a small tan head. The nose is alive with orange, grapefruit, HOPS, and some malt. The taste brings more of the grapefruit forward along with an almost maple syrup sweetness in the background. Definite hop bitterness too. Finishes well with not too much bitter aftertaste. Great stuff!

bottle. Very floral and fruity aroma. Had a sharp bitterness. In all it was an average IPA.
